We use them camping in areas of questionable water & have found they work great. Also took them to India as an emergency resource. Its pretty compact, lightweight & can be worn around the neck on its tether while day hiking. You do have to work within the limitations of the filter media, so do not expect to gulp down water as you drink through them, but you can consistently sip through them for quite a while before having to clear for a new drink. If you camp or hunt or travel to remote areas, take one, your life may depend on it.
It is everything you would expect from LifeStraw. It works exactly as they say. Instructions included for ease-of-use. Filters out most things you would prefer not to drink. This is my third LifeStraw. I do a lot of hiking and camping, and these have always been in my backpack. I have used these on some very funky water sources and have had no issues. However, taste variance has been present from time to time.
