For my kids, this is by far the best value for the money and gives them everything they need for virtual school and beyond. The screen quality as well as the included keyboard and kickstand make this a great device for them and relatively easy to use.
As a parent, having controls that are easy to set up and maintain over what they can access on the web through supervising their accounts with Google Family Link makes the experience of a Chromebook highly preferable to either pure Android/Apple devices (and I own and use both).
I can’t believe this machine exists and they sell it at this price point. I haven’t been this blown away by a device since I bought an iPad for the first time like 10 years ago. I love that it comes with a keyboard, and the feel of the Duet is sturdy and even luxurious!
I’m really pleased with my little Duet. Perfect for emailing, Netflix streaming, writing on the go, web surfing on the couch while watching TV, etc. I would 100% recommend this for anyone looking for a tablet/laptop for themselves as a toy or for light work, or even for young kids stuck at home doing Zoom for school.
Just a heads up: my hubby is in IT and thanks to a nationwide shortage of computers and computer parts, any repairs are taking at least a month. He has clients who mailed their computers in – even for something as little as screws- and Lenovo has had their laptops over a month. Also, if your child uses this for school (like Google Classroom) we are seeing that Chromebooks can’t handle multiple tabs open at once, it kicks them out of the meet and/or freezes up. This is independent of any connection issues – when it’s been tried in multiple places like both home and school, home and daycare, home and a relatives house. Chrome books weren’t made memory-usage wise for running Google Classroom/Google Meet and multiple tabs/windows open.
Thank you for the heads up! It’s great information, CW!
Our kids have been using school issued HP G4 with no problems yet. Screens are a bit small though! Unsure how these compare with the Lenovo entry level ones on Best Buy. Side note those were $109 and now $119..lol..But thanks for the input none the less, definitely helpful to hear independent experiences!
