   Had a KA opener, rusted within a year 🙁 got one from a family dollar now, we will see how long it lasts. Am I the only one who washes them? Maybe that’s what I’m doing wrong. Ikea one rusted too but not as fast and as bad as the KA one.

  I rinse mine occasionally and then spray some cooking oil on the gears.

  Sorry to hear that. I have my KA can opener for 7 years now and I absolutely love it! I rinse it with water or wash it after each use but always leave it out to air dry. So far still good!

   I bought an OXO one after using @ my aunt’s house…. it is awesome The first time I used it I couldn’t tell if it was working as the can looked unopened but it cut open it in a way that the whole rim is cut without any sharpness It’s so effortless… not like cheap can openers where u have to twist them with so much effort

  Shelly, could you possibly post a link to that can opener? I need a good can opener in my kitchen. 😣 Mines don’t ever last too long and I find myself constantly buying new ones.
