Such a cute idea!! Thank you for the heads up!
I got this for my daughter last year because it was posted on H2S and she loved it! Sadly, she found out the truth about Santa. Any suggestions on how to keep it magical for them once that happens?
If she has any siblings, I ask for her help to keep it magical for them. If no siblings, maybe cousins or other younger children. If she gets to help create the magic for others, I’m sure she’ll feel the magic herself. I know making it magical for my own kiddos makes it magical for me.
I told our son, You receive if you believe. He’s now 17 years old and gets thrilled during the holidays but there’s more…
We also talked about giving to those less fortunate, in his yearly years, we took out $20 from the bank all in $1.00 bills and he kept them in his wallet to give to Salvation Army Bell Ringers.
Allow your child to select gifts for donations too, reminding her Santa is the Spirit of Giving and Goodwill.
Ask her what Santa means and find a way for her to demonstrate it on her terms.
I’m 57 years old and will always believe in Santa. Our world is surrounded by them.
We told our 8.5 yr old a few days ago. It really helped to not just say the truth about Santa, but say that she was now a Santa. We explained what being a Santa was and then we went to the store where she used her own money to buy some gifts to donate to Toys for Tots. She gets to help with her younger brothers and sisters and cousins and help them believe until they are ready to be Santas, too. She really enjoys helping me with our Elf on the Shelf every night 🙂 As a mom, I was almost crying admitting the “truth” about Santa, but she wasn’t devastated or felt anything was ruined. In fact, Christmas is more exciting for her now.
Am I the only one with a tear in her eye? Wow, Kat4312. What a great way of sharing the secret of Santa and reinforcing the meaning of the season with your older child.
This is almost the exact conversation and timeline of event with my middle child this year!😭 She was so excited to tell her older siblings that she’s in “The Santa Club” now! She has helped with the elf the past two nights and is working to help with her younger siblings!
I use to tell my kids it’s what you believe in your heart.
Thank you so much my daughter and niece is going to love this!!!!
