Target is now selling customizable hair-care products from Function of Beauty!

Earlier this month, Target began selling Function of Beauty’s popular hair care products both in-store and online at Target.com!

Previously available only from their own online store, Function of Beauty is best known for offering customized hair care products with trillions of formula possibilities. Now, for the first time ever, these products will be sold directly to consumers from brick and mortar stores at Target.

The Function of Beauty products sold at Target will include shampoo and conditioner for four distinct hair types – straight, wavy, curly, and coily.

To create customized hair care products, shoppers choose the base shampoo and conditioning products for their hair texture and then select up to three “hair-booster” shots based on their unique hair goals. Customers can add these shots to the shampoo and conditioner at home, creating a customized hair care product specifically for their individual hair type and desired outcome.

Target had to streamline the customization process to make it feasible for its direct-to-consumer model, so Target shoppers won’t have all the same customization options as customers ordering directly from Function of Beauty (like choosing the color, fragrance, and name printed on the bottle).

The trade-off is that buying these products at Target will be more affordable. On FoB’s website, 8-oz. and 16-oz. shampoo and conditioner sets cost $39.99 and $49.99 respectively, while Target is retailing the 12-oz. equivalent (shampoo, conditioner, and three hair boosters) for $28.95.

Thanks for posting! I hate the straight hair is coconut water – I’m allergic to coconut! However, my friend has been wanting to try this and $29 is a great price compared to doing the subscription on their website! So I’ll have to let her know!! Thanks guys!
