Can anyone please explain how Ibotta works? I tried it a few years ago and never got cash back. Ebates (now called Rakuten) has worked for me and I get a check in the mail when I do online orders going through the Rakuten website or app first. But I’m not sure how Ibotta works. Thank you!!

Yes! We have a post on this. Just click here and you can look at #2!

It’s an app that allows for in-store shopping rebates for specific items, where ebates/rakuten has traditionally been online shopping. You can also shop online through the ibotta app. The more rebates you get cash back, often the more bonuses and offers came with ibotta. HTH a bit

I think your total cost for the fudgy five bar granola bars is wrong. You can only do two of the Ibotta if you buy two of them so you would get $5 back, not $7.50

    • Joan

So your total cost will be $2.50

      • jenninelynnae

I can do three of the 5 pack so maybe it’s different for everybody 🤷🏼‍♀️

        • Joan

The original post says to buy two of the five pack, not three of them.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

I’ve updated the post numbers and math if that helps, Joan!

      • Joan

Thank you for updating the post. I was so confused!

I used to use Ibotta it was good while it lasted and offers vary person to person. If you use it a lot I would say the offers aren’t as good or as plentiful bonus offers. Also be careful on returns as I returned things unrelated to offers they had and it flagged my slip at Walmart but wouldn’t give me more information of the alleged violation. After attempts with customer service to get things corrected and lack of response to things they blocked me on the app.

    • Nee

Oh wow thanks for letting us know about receipt returns! I just got some stuff from Ibotta that I realized had past expiration dates and wanted to return or exchange them, but now I’m afraid to if they flag me for it…
