We have owned a Kirby for years. To test it out, we vacuumed with the Kirby first and then followed with the Shark. The Shark picked up so much more. We filled the canister about 1/3 of the way full AFTER the carpet was done with the Kirby. It took a little bit to figure out how to detach the lift away to use on the stairs. The small beater attachment made our carpet on the stairs LOOK vacuumed.
My only hiccup was the small attachment is powerful but comes apart easily. We had to reassemble it twice. It got dropped once and came apart. The other time it was like it fell apart in my husband’s hands. There is a small button that can separate the pieces. I may just keep a large rubber band around the attachment to help keep it together. For the price, this has been well worth our money.
