For some reason I don’t have the Walgreens coupon for the Garnier.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

The first coupon I found on the product page. If you don’t see the second coupon, go search again and it’s listed under “multi-brand” – a bit odd, but that’s how I found it.

  2. Carrie

Can I do this in store? I know it would take out the 10% off but I don’t have good luck picking them up from store, always out of stock

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Yes you can! Just make sure you have all your digital coupons loaded first.

      • Carrie

        Thanks 🙏

        • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

          You bet, Carrie!

  3. Jessica

There is two coupons for the Garnier? I only can find the $1 manufactor coupon.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

If you don’t see the second coupon, go search again and it’s listed under “multi-brand” – a bit odd, but that’s how I found it.

      • Jessica

I only see a $2 off select garnier products which doesn’t include hair care. Bummer.

  4. Simon

I got a Catalina for $7 off $30. Does anyone know if it can be used online for a store pick up order?

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

I would read the fine print. All of mine say you can only use them while in-store for in-store purchases only.

  5. Pam

The promo code NEWYOU did not take 10% off my order. What exactly was it to be applied toward? Also, I only found one $1 coupon for the Garnier hair products. What might I have missed? Thanks.

    • Beth

Sometimes I’ve had other offers like $5 of points with a $25 purchase or $5 off a $25 pick up purchase and it will automatically apply those and then it won’t take the NEWYOU discount. Either way I’m not exactly sure which products it is applying to in my order as it only took off $.68. And I also don’t have the other $1 Garnier coupon. With tax here this deal works out to $10.59 with $5.20 back in Walgreens cash. I think that’s still not a bad deal. Anyway sorry it isn’t working out as well for you :-/

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Hi, Pam! I’m not exactly what it applies towards, but in the scenario above it took off 58¢ for us. Make sure you are logged into your account to use your code.

  6. Jessica

If you use current rewards balance will you still earn the additional $5? I’m new to how to use the reward balance and don’t want to use it if it will wipe out the current $5 on this order.

    • Amy

I’m wondering the same thing! Any luck figuring it out?

For those of you having trouble finding the digital coupons here’s the easiest way: be sure and log on through a web browser and not through the app even if you are using a phone. The app is fickle. Put all the items in your cart BEFORE you worry about clipping the digitals. Once you have them in the cart you will see something like coupons available. Click on that and you will see all the coupons relevant to that particular item. Go on down the list of purchases until you have all the coupons clipped outlined in the deal. If you get the notice “coupons not available “ it could mean the coupon is already clipped or used or it could mean the web site is experiencing difficulties or it could mean that you are not logged in. If so try again later making sure you are logged in.

This is for those asking if they can pay with MyWalgreens cash and still earn the $5. The answer is no for this deal. It’s what is called a “spend” versus a “buy” deal. When the deal says “spend” you must reach that dollar amount. Manufacturers coupons do not count against that total because Walgreens gets reimbursed for those. However paying with MyWalgreens cash, store credit, WAGS gift cards, or using Walgreens coupons will count against meeting the dollar threshold. When a deal says “buy” the only requirement is that you buy the right items in the right amount; you may both earn and redeem on a “buy” deal. To recap this is a “spend” deal requiring you to spend a total amount of out of pocket cash plus manufacturer’s coupons to equal $20. Do not pay with MyWalgreens cash.

If you had items cancelled on a store pickup order and no longer want the deal just call the store directly and cancel. If you used MyWalgreens cash to pay it should be returned to you within 48 hours and most usually within 24 automatically.with no effort on your part. If you used digital coupons on a canceled item those will disappear and there is no way to get them back. However Walgreens policy is to give you MyWalgreens cash equal to the value of the coupons. This is not automatic and you must make a request. The easiest way to do this is to start an online chat with a rep. Be prepared to give your name, phone number associated with the account and the order number. I just did this process today and it was very easy and less time consuming than 1-800-Walgreens. On your online order you can mark that you will take substitutes but it may or may not work out. I generally mark it.

  10. tipaye

Is it just my Walgreens, or does anybody else have problems with them putting in 0% effort with substitutions for online orders? Just a simple switch of an alternative item which is in-stock for the same price (yes, I check the ‘allow substitutions’ box). I have just started shopping Walgreens and have missed-out on at least around $15 already. I’ll have an offer to clip (ex: earn $5 when you spend at least $10), they don’t do an item substitution and then ‘revise’ my order, knocking my total down to like $9.98, then I don’t get the reward. I’m considering speaking with management if it continues.

    • Lo

I was disappointed I didn’t get a call for a substitution also. I did the soda deal awhile back and would have taken a sub. I guess I could have asked but my order had actually expired ( they don’t expire at the end of the day but exactly 72hrs after picked) so I felt I was already rocking the boat by them re-doing my order at the sale price.

    • JD827

I think some workers might be afraid that the substitution wouldn’t go over well. I think the best solution would be if Walgreens would have a box where the customer could indicate what items they would accept as a substitute. Win for all.

    • Jessica C Riedell

I was just told this which I do not believe is correct – Please be aware that estimated points can be affected by any discounts such as a promo code, Clipped coupons or manufacture coupons and point redemption. Estimated points are not a guarantee. Purchase requirement must be met in a single transaction, before taxes and shipping, and after discounts (coupons/except manufacturer coupons), store credit and redemption dollars are applied.
      8:09 am.

Do the rewards really come after all coupons/discounts? If so this scenario above would be WAY under the $20 to get the rewards. I’m confused now.

      • Couponing mom

I’m confused too, because last week I did similar deal total befor mfc was over $20 but I did not get the $5 walgreens cash.

        • JD827

Go back in the order history and see if you can figure it out. Did you use any Walgreens coupons, pay with MyWalgreens cash, receive any discounts such as $5 off $20 purchase coupons etc? If not do an online chat with a rep giving them your name, phone and order number and ask for the MyWalgreens cash. You could also call 1-800-Walgreens. Be prepared to tell them which purchases should have earned bonuses/points. I’m very sorry that the deal was a disappointment.

      • JD827

Yes and no. Please read my three posts above for a clearer explanation. This is a “spend” deal. A “buy” deal has different rules. Manufacturer’s coupons won’t count against you because Walgreens gets reimbursed for that. However Walgreens coupons, store credit, wags gift cards, and MyWalgreens cash will because in Walgreens view that is double dipping. The first screen where cash points are estimated is the very best scenario and is not a guarantee. It can’t be because at that screen you haven’t paid yet. It’s a lot when you start at Walgreens but really once you understand the framework it makes sense and is just second nature.

  11. frugal lady2

    Loving this deal. Thanks.

  12. Chris Lavenz

I have the garnier walgreens coupon but not the manufactuer coupon.

    • JD827

Use a web browser rather than the app even if you are using a phone. Make sure you are logged in. Put your items in the cart. You will see “coupons available” for those items in the cart that have them. Click on the link and than clip the relevant coupons. If you still don’t see it it’s possible that the coupon has already been used so double check that.
