I am not a heavy user of a cellphone, so Tracfones have worked out well for me. One resource for getting information about the different phones and models is Turk Forums, an online site. Also, there are usually deals on refills for minutes/texts/data, so always check out promo codes before refilling (via Tracfone.com).
Hsn offers deals a couple times a year and I grab one for my dad. He seldom uses his phone and this is great for him.
HSN and QVC (also QVC2) offer Tracfone deals about every 1-3 months.
