Disney California Adventure Opening for a Limited-Time Ticketed Experience in March
Another Disney resort is slowly emerging from shutdown! 🎉
Disneyland Resort closed its doors on March 14, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it has yet to reopen. At one point, the park was expected to reopen in July, but the resort remained closed as coronavirus cases continued to rise. Just last month, the ban on outdoor dining at select Downtown Disney restaurants was lifted.
Now, Good Morning America is reporting that Disney California Adventure will reopen in mid-March for a “limited-time ticketed experience.” Although no official date has been released for this event, this “distinctly Disney experience” will be offered multiple days a week to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the park’s grand opening.
One thousand Disneyland Resort cast members are expected to return to work for this celebration, which will focus on the park’s “world-famous food and beverage offerings from around the resort, the latest merchandise, and unique, carefully crafted entertainment experiences.” The park will operate with “limited capacity and enhanced safety measures,” but its rides and attractions are not expected to be operational at this time.
This news was reportedly announced in a letter to Cast Members from Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock. He said in part,
This past year has presented extraordinary challenges, but that has not curtailed in any way our ability to move forward with a spirit of optimism. While that is clearly not all we want to accomplish, it’s a start. Teams are working as we speak to start recalling identified Cast in the coming weeks.
Knott’s Berry Farm had one similar last Christmas break we went to. It will be like a “Tasting Expo” the park was open to walk around and take pics and buy merch..but the attractions and rides were closed.

I took my children to Disney World last week. My advice is to skip the California closures and experience Orlando at its best: limited capacity (= shorter lines), masks required, social distancing while waiting in lines, and hand sanitizer everywhere! Right now is a great time to go before they increase their numbers.
I hope we keep social distancing in line forever. I hate people breathing down my neck in lines, lol.
Seriously! Haha. I hate that too- i feel claustrophobic! And then people r stinky-ughhhhh… but i miss Disney!!!!!!
Sign me up! I’m excited for the rumored expansion onto Main Street during the ticketed event at DCA.
What a joke. Cali is so messed up. Open up.
