This small salad spinner lets you wash and dry your salad mixes, herbs, or fresh fruits without taking up too much space in your cabinets. Add and drain the water right through the opening in the top; no need to remove the lid. Once you’re ready to serve, the clear bowl can go right to the table. We’re all about washing less dishes!
Plus, the anti-skid base and easy to push spinner makes this a job the kiddos can help with too!
Check out rave reviews and one way we totally didn’t expect to use it…
I actually don’t use this salad spinner for lettuce. I saw a Facebook hack on using salad spinners to wash your bras. After years of hand washing my bras (my washing machine bent the underwire) this is a lifesaver!!! The top locks with a simple click. And it has a water refill/empty hole to make cleaning easy! The top won’t fly off–bonus! I can empty the water without taking the top off–bonus! I can fill it with water WHILE spinning–bonus!!!
I have two small children (ages 4 and 6) who I am trying to get more involved in kitchen work/life skills. They really have fun using this spinner, so after I wash and drain, it is their job to spin the produce dry. Getting them involved also makes them more interested in the foods and eager to try it out. By prepping it ahead this way, I am also able to have produce washed and ready in the fridge for them to help themselves to through out the day. Sometimes, we also ask Alexa to tell us facts about whatever we are spinning. “Alexa, please tell me a fact about spinach” or “Alexa, how are blueberries grown?” “Alexa, what are some popular recipes using cilantro?” We are homeschoolers, so it makes for a nice mini-lesson while we are just going about our necessary life activities.
I really like this salad spinner. Its locking design is easy to use and locks the lid in place. The bottom of the bowl has anti slip so the bowl will stay in place as you try to spin with the knob. I use it to wash the salad, after emptying out the water from the top hole, I would spin it a couple of more time to get all the excess water out. I did find a minor flaw is that the outer plastic bowl had a small crack. I contacted Cuisinart’s customer service and they were quick to send a replacement.
