I have this style and would actually recommend the version that includes shoulder straps. Looks just like this but with tank top looking straps.
I came to say the same thing. We couldn’t keep these up. Switched to Speedo brand (with shoulders) from Target. Much safer.

We had and have these and have never had an issue keeping them on, when using them within the recommended weight range. I had a more solid kid and a really skinny kid and it’s worked great for both when in range. The skinnier kid was a little older when he was first able to use it. I prefer the ones without the 3D faces however. They stick out and just make them more awkward, in my opinion.
Just make sure it’s a real puddle jumper and not a knock off. The real ones have the coast guard logo and the knock offs do not.
