I totally agree, this thing rocks, it turns on/off automatically when you move the probe to the closed position. Also since the probe collapses into the unit it doesn’t get stuck in the drawer and break like 2 others of mine that met their demise that way… it’s fast and terrific! Getting a second one for my son’s apartment.

I bought this same one awhile back and it only lasted a couple months. I’ve had several of these instant read meat thermometers (all different brands) and they all seem to only last a short while. They are great until they start going haywire and giving you wonky readings. Nobody wants raw chicken. LOL Fortunately they are inexpensive, but I kinda think I should start buying them in bulk.

Bummer. I bought one at the recommendation from this site, however it has stopped working too. It was only a few months with very minimal use. I’m very disappointed. And I threw out our old working one, so now we don’t have a food thermometer. The product has been removed from Amazon now. 🙁
