If you’re looking for a ruggedized, spill-resistant laptop that can take a beating, then this is the laptop for you. The Acer Chromebook 512 packs enough power to get the homework done and is durable enough to survive life on the road or backpack abuse.
The laptop has a rigid plastic and rubber case, with a hard rubber support bar under the front and a hard plastic support bar under the back. This provides enough spacing above a desk for better cooling and sound from the bottom-facing speakers. The keyboard has a nice feel and texture for smooth typing. The keyboard has a unique drainage design that withstands liquid spills and has two drain ports on the bottom. I would recommend purchasing!
This is the first Chromebook that we have ever owned. We have had other Acer products and have always been pleased with the purchases. If you are needing an inexpensive durable laptop that is great for on the road, camping, hiking or even for the kids to use for school, the Acer 512 won’t let you down. My wife loves that she can sync her chrome account and have all the apps from her phone on the Chromebook. It’s easy to go from your phone to the Chromebook or vice versa. Great for schoolwork and productivity. As I stated earlier this is a great durable laptop. I have confidence that even though it might get a little dirty and grimy, it will keep working and be a handy machine to have around.
This is a good deal, but would note that 32GB is not a lot and is possible that if Microsoft has an update, it may not be able to handle it. From first hand experience- Our 32GB laptop from last year could not handle the last Microsoft update and was effectively bricked because of it. We ended up having to replace with one that could handle more and thus we didn’t save money in the long term.
Its a Chromebook. It doesn’t run on microsoft windows.
A chromebook isn’t the same as a laptop. It also doesn’t have Microsoft, it has a Google platform. I own one of both, and a chromebook is closer to being a tablet than an actual laptop or computer. The chromebook worked great for my children who used a Google classroom platform and didn’t need any additional programs. It is also my go to on an everyday purpose to check emails and whatnot because it functions much more quickly than my laptop.
sorry- you are right- for a Chromebook, it wouldn’t worry about Windows. Our school system’s systems leaned Microsoft and their update didn’t ‘play well’ with our 32GB laptop- but I don’t have any Chromebook experience.
