The Walgreens in my town will not honor online coupons. And twice I tried to earn the register rewards but it never showed up on my account

    • Nicole (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Jbruha301! I would suggest just placing your order online for free store pickup. As long as they have the products available to pick up, you can use the digital coupons and still earn the cash rewards without any issues.

      • Patricia Goff

My walgreens honors the digital coupons but if you order online for store pick up you do not get walgreens cash back as it is not a store purchase but an online purchase.

    • lynnleco

I agree with you cuz it happened to me twice. However a quick call to customer service and they manually added the rewards.

    • Tracey

Yes, it is so much easier to order online and pick up at the store; that way you can see which coupons applied to your order as well as your estimated Walgreens Cash Reward amount. It can be a pain to deal with cashiers when digital coupons are not applied (I blame the system more than the cashiers!). Sometimes I have placed multiple orders in a day (’cause H2S keeps posting all the specials haha) and it really is so much easier.

The online digital coupons come off automatically unless there is a glitch. The store can’t choose or not choose to have the digital coupons come off. If so write corporate about it. In store you must make sure you input your phone number on the account and make sure you match the right product in the right quantity to the coupon. If it doesn’t come off call or chat with customer service. RRs are printed at the cash register and do not show up on your account; for the most part those are from the manufacturer and not Walgreens. Walgreeens cash will show up on your account and is a reward from Walgreens. Check the ad to see if you are supposed to receive RRs or Walgreens cash. The remedies to correct the problem are different depending on whether it was a RR or WC

Both times the ad read to spend $25 and get five dollars and register rewards and that’s exactly what I did. But with nothing printed out I asked the cashier and she said that it should come off the next time I was in the store but it never showed up on my account and I put in my phone number every time. Is the customer service number online?

        • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

          Walgreens Customer Service is 1 (800) 925-4733.

I think you may be talking about the Mystery Bonus rewards which would have been $5 Walgreens Cash when you spend $25. The Walgreens Cash would go on your account if you have spent $25 after all Walgreens store coupons. If you’re counting your $25 before store coupons or Buy One, Get One free sales, then that might be where the hiccup occurred.

Where are the digital coupons found?

Hip2Save has a great section on Walgreens that I think really helps.

I’m so sorry the link to the Walgreens help on coupons didn’t turn out right. I’m going to try to copy and paste from it. I hope it turns out better.
Once you are logged into your myWalgreens account, please visit Walgreens offers page at walgreens.com/coupons. Here, you will find several coupon offers for you to browse through and search. Simply click on the Clip to Card button to add a particular offer to your account. You can search by keyword in the box at the top right of the page.

You can also clip directly from the online version of the Weekly Ad. After navigating to the Weekly Ad (by clicking the link at the top of any page on Walgreens.com or the link on the left side of the Paperless Coupons page) hover over the coupon you would like to clip and click the Clip to Card button.

Can you use walgreen’s cash to pay and still earn more cash?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yes! That will work for these deals.

  5. SueJo

I placed this “deal” order online for store pickup. The store showed everything in stock but I selected “substitute any brand” just in case. I got notice that the store was out of 3 of my items and didn’t substitute. I called to ask why and basically they just didn’t and wouldn’t. I ended up telling them to cancel the order. Now my coupons are gone and I would like to try this at another Walgreens. Is there anything I can do?

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Unfortunately, the coupon is gone. You can contact Walgreens (online chat is quickest) and they normally will reward you the difference in Walgreens Cash. However, they might ask you to make the purchase before they’ll issue that Walgreens cash to your account in the same value of the coupons.

      • SueJo

I’ll try that! Thank you for your help!

      • SueJo

Hi Stacy, I did an online chat like you suggested. I referenced my online order# that I placed and requested substitutions on. Explained that because the substitutions were not made, it messed up the whole scenario with my coupons and Walgreens cash that I would have received so I canceled the order and as a result I lost my digital coupons. The online chat agent gave me $11.00 in Walgreens cash to replace my loss! Thank you so much for taking the time to help me!

    • C

@suejo that is the problem with online orders- if they cancel it or modify it, your coupons go *poof* that were applied when u placed the order … no way to get them back… they’ve screwed up my online orders about half the time (and they can’t fix it in store either once it’s filled by the employee- eg I tried to do a deal with axe- placed it online and checked that it could be substituted with a different scent from the same brand… well I got a message that the order was ready but had been modified… went the same day within an hour or so to pick up, and there was only 1 out of the 2 items- I went and looked at the section with the axe- plenty in stock.. I asked a manager if it was possible to add one of the axe in from the shelf and get the same deal as had been placed online (had screenshots and everything)- she said there’s no way to do it UGH and said she had no idea why the person who filled it didn’t do it properly)….. it really stinks so I hate ordering online if there are coupons involved
