Hello, I would like to share my horrible experience at Lakeside shelby Township Michigan store. I was at the Checkout with nice cashier, i had all my coupons ready. When i handed the coupons he called someone over to thel walky talky. The lady came and start accusing me that they are copied. I said how you can evem blame me of coping when all of my coupons have a different numbers below the barcode but she wouldn’t listen to me saying we only accept thww catalina coupons and the one comes into the Sunday newspaper we dont accept thia kinda paper coupons. I was shocked i wasnt aware if those. So i went to target website to seee if they have changed the policy but they didnt. There was big booded later policy was saying print at home coupon if they are scannable they they are legit. They didnt even start scanning my coupons yet and started accusing me of copying those coupons.Even cashier was agree with me. I asked to talk to the store manager and she angrily said I AM THE STORE MANAGER and gave me really bad look andi had 4 bounty paper towel she was like i can only acceot one cause it says one pur purchase i told her one per perchase means one purchase per item i even show her target policy specifically on that but still she wouldn’t believe me. I dont know why she was actinf like that with me.I almost cried but then i realize i am. not a lier not a bad couooner. I am a legit couponer who always always follow thw storw policy and she is the one who needa to educate herself by knowing her own store coupon policy. Now tell me guys Are they stop accepting Print at home coupons?? and even though They all have different numbers are they still copied. I even told her rhw difference betn cop and print. I felt so bad. It took me more than 45mins to checkout. I have 14minths old baby for whom i am tryling to save as much as i could. Am i doing wrong to feel this kinda embarrassment? Please share your thought. I called taget relatiob and filled my case but i dont knw if I will get justice.

Must be Michigan stores…I had a similar experience at the Brighton location. I later spoke with the mgr and contacted coupons.com and went again and the same team lead who was very rude to me had a change of heart and said my coupons were ok…I guess her mgr spoke with her. Hope you have a better experience next time.

      • Stacey

The Michigan stores really must be cracking down on coupons because I had a horrible experience at the Livonia store. I ended up speaking with two different people in management and they still would not take one of my manufacturer coupons because it had a different store logo on it. I even pulled up the Target coupon policy (which is so easy to find thanks to Hip2Save) that states they can be used. I ended up putting back the item and bought it at a different store. Its unfortunate that every Target has a different interpretation of their coupon policy.

        • Angel

They are I shop at the Allen park store in Michigan had a bit of a iusse a few months ago but she told what the iusse was a lady was cutting and pasting to make her own coupons 5 dollars of something was only a dollars it took them a few time but they got her

      • Daisy

Pamela, i talked to Target relations after coming home and asked the question about print at home coupons. The person i spoke said they still accept Print at home coupons as long they scan and limit of 4 manufacturers and store coupons per transaction per day per person. He was so sorry for that store manager exeperience and he would help me to take my case to the highest level. I have provided all the info from my receipt so they can check the cameras and find out what actuality happen to me. The store manager had so so much attitude and i dont know why she was so positive that nobody can say anything to her and he was the BOSS of everyone. She even said i dont wanna look at target policy online and when i say then do you have a copy of your coupon policy and rudly she said no I DONT.

        • Lorelei

Daisy, I’m glad that Target relations was able to help you out! I have had similar experiences at the Target in Ann Arbor. They always accuse me of copying coupons/misusing coupons/etc. I called Target relations afterwards and the Target customer care even asked me “well, did you copy coupons?” When I told them no, they asked “are you sure?” They were worse than the Target employees! That was about 2 years ago. I went to Target for the first time since last week because I saw some good deals on this website and I had the same experience.

      • Tym

I had the same experience at concord, Nh target. Starting from that day, I’ve never ever gone to target anymore.

    • Brittany

Please call Target corporate and complain. That’s unacceptable. They will probably send u a target gift card for your hassle.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So sorry to hear that Daisy. Sounds extremely frustrating 🙁

      • Daisy

I know Collin, It was. Even i could not sleep for a minute last night thinking about the humiliation i faced there. Why it happened to me i always follow the rule, I am a educated person having masters degree. I know what I am doing. I love your site and always look for good deal before heading to any store. Because of my little baby i cant go often so whenever i get chance, i do all deals on same day. Being a SMART SHOPPER isnt a bad thing i believe.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Being a smart shopper is definitely a good thing 😉

    • Amy

I’m sorry that happened to you. I had a similar experience at my WI Target. I had the manger and security guard come over. They tried to say the same thing to me. I stood my ground, read the coupon policy and ended up leaving my $500 purchase on the belt. Spoke with the store manager a few days later, and she is also a couponer. We went threw my whole transaction together, and was told it was all correct, i did everything right. Now when i walk in, they leave me alone.

      • Diesel1

That’s what I do when not satisfied leave everything there get names and store number call and make a complaint. We are just trying to save what we can and not be embarrassed or disrespected in the process. They don’t train them enough on store policy

        • Shel

Any time I have the opportunity to do a survey one of the things I always put is Employees NEED training on Coupon Policy!! After a bad experience, I always let the cashier know before we start the transaction that I”ll be using coupons & I understand the policy so lets hope it goes well for both of us then I give them that “look” as my fiance calls it lol I usually leave a happy camper.

          • Amy

            Haha!

        • Amy

Agreed! I knew i did everything right and when the manger on duty knows nothing about the coupon policy, it gets frustrating!

          • Shel

Amy, its just sad to hear many cashiers or manager’s have no clue about their coupon policy. They love a scene lol

    • Mary

I had the same experience at the clinton township location 5 miles away!I called corporate because I was so upset!

    • debbie

That’s terrible! I am so sorry for all of you going through this. Luckily, at our target (metro STL) they seem to lean on the customer’s side. I never get the “what are you trying to pull” look. I wonder if your target employees are threatened with something if they let a mistake go through. Is there some big penalty for them?

    • Valerie H

I always keep Target’s corporate number in my cell phone after I had a similar experience years ago. It was very embarrassing, I know how you feel. You can call corporate from the cash register and they will sort it out right then and there.

  3. Sarah C

All You magazine- $1/1 ghiradelli bar 😉

    • Jennifer

      Thanks!

  4. pamela

I am so sorry you had that experience, I don’t work for Target but I had an experience where I was humiliated in a store when I was just asking for the sale price of an item on sale! Sounds like you’re store manager co yo ld use some lessons in tact not to mention curtousy. Hope it doesn’t sour you from couponing. I’m just getting started and not sure I would continue if I’d had an experience like yours. So sorry

  5. Vikki

I’m sorry had that experience Daisy! Don’t let it keep you down though! Blessings! “)

  6. Keisha

Sorry you experienced that Daisy… I have a bad experience at The target in Farmington Hills in Michigan every time I go they call the manager every time I get to the register and he says I just need to verify all of your coupons… Not printed ones these are the one from the sales paper! I don’t care I keep going and using my coupons because I know that I’m not doing anything wrong! And also he says if I do a gift card deal I can’t use it on my next purchase in the same shopping trip I have to use it the next day!

    • Daisy

keisha, I think they are making rules by their own or either to harass couponers. If they dont want couponer to shop at there storw why they have coupons on their own site ane even now they combined with coupons. com too.

    • Erin

If it is as widespread in Michigan/Wisconsin as the comments indicate, it has to be coming from corporate. Must be a lot of coupon fraud up there. Doesn’t excuse management’s ignorance, but that’s what happens when a few spoil it for everyone. Hang in there, don’t copy coupons, and certainly don’t allow others to “humiliate” you if you’re following the rules.

      • Daisy

Erin, I did talk to the corporate and they said THEY DO ALLOW PRINT AT HOME COUPONS. I understand some people copy coupons but they cant just blame anyone who is honest couponer and coupons were infront of her. She could see the numbers below the barcode were different even the cashier saw it. She was just trying to make a scene and only wanted to teach the cashier cause she is the manager she cant be wrong and thats why created a big scene. I am 100% sure that she knew that she was wrong and that is the reason she wouldn’t gave me customers relation number. I have to ask for it.

        • Erin

Yes, Target accepts IP coupons. I’m simply suggesting that if corporate’s cracking down on those stores due to coupon fraud, it makes the employees that much more “vigilant” about ALL coupons.

  7. Nicole

Ocean Spray PACt are on sale at my Target $1.50. Unfortunately I dont have the Ibotta offer. 🙁

  8. Lindak

Thanks for the deals. Went last night and also found single packs of PostIt notes for $.30.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      YW! Great find!

  9. Erin

Not sure where the mystical 90 percent school supplies are, but it’s not in Richmond, Va. Not much left here, and what is left is individually stickered. The cheapest notebooks I found were around .50.

  10. Heather

I saw the deal above for the Ghirardelli Chocolate Bar. In the October All You magazine there is a $1.00 off any Ghiradelli Chocolate Bar which would make it only 0.64 cents.

  11. Stefani

One Spot has the werther’s for $1. Makes them free with coupon! 🙂

  12. Pam

I found 90ct Post Its for 30¢ & 400ct Post Its for $1.49 at my store in Oregon. There was also a great Kotex tampon deal: free $5 gift card wyb 3 @ $5.99/ea. Each box had yellow $1/1 peelies! Made the 36ct boxes $3.33/ea.

    • ana

      Which Oregon target?

  13. Meredith

Does anyone know if the buy 3 get 1 free glade deal is still on this week?

  14. DC

Is the Redplum Quaker Granola Bar coupon regional? I can’t find it in mine.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yes, it looks like that one is regional.

  15. Catie

    Also a great deal on Starbucks fraps this week–buy 3 at 4.99 = 14.97. $14.97 x 35% off cartwheel = 9.73. $9.73 – $5 Starbucks gc for buying select products = 4.73. $4.73 divided by 12 drinks = .39 cents a drink!! Great deal! And the gift card came very quickly too!

  16. Karen

    Hi,

I tried using the $2/2 ghiradelli minis coupon, but was told since it said “redeemable at Walmart” they couldn’t take it. I had read here that that meant it was one, not the only, place it could be used… I was tired and didn’t feel like arguing, so I just had the cashier take it off my order. Any suggestions for what to show them next time? Thanks.

    • mel

Print out this FAQ on Target’s coupon policy page –

How can I tell if Target will accept my manufacturer coupon?
Target will accept your manufacturer coupon, as long as printed limitations and requirements are met. Keep in mind:
-> Manufacturer coupons can be accepted at the register even if they don’t clearly indicate who the manufacturer is, or if they indicate the name of another retailer.
-> If a coupon states “Manufacturer Coupon,” it’s redeemable anywhere (including Target), even if the coupon states, “Redeemable at Kroger, Cub, etc.” (or any other retailer).
-> Manufacturer coupons that are found on the Internet and printed are accepted.
      Coupon cannot be expired.

Higlight the 2nd bullet point. I just tell them I am familiar with the coupon policy and per corp, it says these types of coupons are accepted and show them the policy. And that seems to clear up any confusion.

Hi Collin, was trying to print the Zantac coupon from coupons.com but can’t seem to find it. Anu suggestions? And thank you for the work you do!!

    • Angela

I think it’s NLA, but I checked the coupon database and found another one (same value!) on Smart Source Shop Local.

      • Phone Girl

Thank you! appreciate the help and lesson. will check database for other sources next time.

My bad day was at Target in Canton, maryland. Was told we don’t take those coupons they are fraudulant. Thought cashier was joking, said yes you do I printed them off your website. Well they did not take my coupons, so I got the cahiers name and reported to corporate. I did leave store in tears that day, because I ghad no way to prove they were good coupons. So i bought a better printer and only print in color now. Know nothing was done about it though. Another time at Target in Middle river , maryland as soon as cahier saw my coupons she told me, I am going to check everything I read all the coupons, I said okay go ahead. Then after first coupon beeped, she called for manager and told her to take care of this cause she hates couponers. My daughter was with me, spoke up told manager she had a bad attitude. I personally go to store and look for her every chance I get. I coupon honsetly. TArget website does say 4 like coupons day but does not limit you to only 4 coupons a day, which is what they were trying to tell me. I also have stopped taking my binder with me. I buy when things are on sale and i have coupons for them, so I am a bad person because the store offers deals they don’t really want you to get. I am tired of being in line with people behind m, for some over aged minum wadge employee who cant comprehend their own policy. But that is what they want to give the true couponers a bad time so won’t come back to their store. No I just make more time so if it takes them 1hour 15 min like last time to check me out then i dont care. I will never again let someone belittle me esp. when I know I am in the right.

    • Kristine

Wow I cannot believe they are treating people like this. My Target is awesome. Very nice, although I just began couponing a few weeks ago.
My one hassle was my first transaction with my husband present at Walmart in Caldwell, ID. I was doing a price match and had coupons for the purchase and the assistant manager happened to be the cashier. He started throwing a fit saying I was getting things for free and refused to take my coupons. Then he shoved them in the register and didn’t want to return them. The CSM came over and took out the coupons and explained to him that they do price match and coupons together. She apologized and paid me the difference for the coupons. The assistant manager was shocked they do that but didn’t even apologize. He just kept throwing his fit about free stuff.

I had a horrible shopping experience at Target in Ballwin MO – I was pleased to be able to purchase the 20 pack of playdough on sale for $14.99 and use my Target coupon of $5 and a manufacturer coupon of $5 combined for a $10 reduction in price, as shown on Hip 2 Save. I wanted to buy 2 packs to put away for toys for tots during the holidays. When I tried to use my 4 coupons to buy 2 packs, I was told the Target ones were out of date, They were not – they still had 4 more days before they lapsed. I then paid $9,99 for each pack, plus tax. I went to customer service straight after, and asked why I was not allowed to use the Target coupon with the manufacturer coupon on each purchase and was told the coupon did not work as it was against policy to use 2 coupons together. I asked to speak to the manager and was told the same thing. Are Target coupons no longer able to be combined with manufacturer coupons at Target or did this Target have a policy all of its own? I bought the playdough anyway but am shying away from using Target now. Ir’s just not worth having to fight for a pleasant shopping experience instead of a frustration.
