Mass testing is one reason Covid is still with us. These tests have a high false positive rate for flu, common cold, etc. I would recommend only testing if you have 2-3 symptoms.

    • Liz

Huh??? Um, no mass testing is not the reason Covid is still with us.

      • Ana

Probably more appropriate to say that most people that get covId either don’t know or have mild symptoms, you know, like the good old fashioned flu? Sadly a lot of people die with the flu too, especially those that are not healthy.

    • Liz

False +ve is very rare….on the other hand u might get a -ve if you test very early on. PCR testing is the best way to test. This test is useful if u cannot wait 24 hours for a test b4 meeting friends and family. WE used these tests b4 Christmas as we had a few elderly ppl with co morbidities in our family. Not testing and not knowing if we are infected id the equivalent of burying ur head in sand. Best to know so that you can quarantine and not spread the virus.

    • Sue

By that logic, breast cancer is still with us because women keep getting mammograms done. And Type 2 Diabetes is so prevalent because people keep getting their blood sugar checked.

      • Hartsell

Now I get it: Woman keep getting pregnant because they use at home pregnancy tests! 😂

      • Lana

The radiation from all those mammograms is significant. There is a real possibility to f cancer from them.

      • Lisha

Never thought of that analogy. Love it. Thank you!! Blessings.

    • Behumbleandkind

That is not a good reason. Very sad.

    • Ashley

Thanks H2S! The at home tests don’t even count toward recorded totals of Covid. While I realize false results are possible, it’s much more likely to be a false negative Than a false positive. I’ve never heard of someone testing positive for Covid but actually had the flu instead.

    • Shameonyou

      Wow… Princed13, you’re a special kind of person

    • DealLovinMama

This is absolutely NOT true! Not only is it proven to not be true scientifically, I have done dozens of this tests with different illnesses on my kids and myself and not a single one has been positive. You’re reading (and spreading) misinformation.

    • DealLovinMama

Like they won’t make more? You’re just costing tax payers more money. Thanks for supporting the post office though!

    • Dgal

Stupidest thing I have ever heard!

    • kyle

Good ol’ Trump logic. “If we don’t test, it don’t exist”.

      • grandmat57

Don’t forget – It was TRUMP that got us the vaccine!

        • mama_kaybow

TRUMP did not get us the vaccine. Katalin Kariko, PhD, a senior vice president at BioNTech, and Drew Weissman, MD, PhD, a professor in vaccine research at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, made a breakthrough discovery by modifying messenger RNA (mRNA), which provides instructions to cells to make proteins. Their work gave us the vaccine.
We can thank these scientists and a multitude of other scientists and researchers for the vaccine. We can thank Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson for the vaccine. TRUMP had nothing to do with giving us the vaccine and in fact slowed down the process and what most probably costs many their lives.

          • Amy

Yeah, thanks for a useless vaccine. Well done.👍🏻

    • MichiganLady

Good idea, Princed13! People gone nuts over testing. If it’s so deadly, why do you need to test? haha the sheep people have turned into, it’s nuts.

    • Alice

Stu, good to know there are others out there with common sense about the tests themselves. That has been the biggest push behind scaring Americans. The more positive tests, the more push for vaccines and mandates. Reading the comments especially about the pregnancy test analogy, really makes a person think how others can actually function in everyday life decisions.

    • Jodi P

      That was SARCASM, people, LOL

    • Sharon

      Wow. You are seriously misguided.

    • CJ

No one will know your results but yourself.

    • Thriftypuppy

No, Stu is right. The tests DO have a high false positive test rate because they were designed to pick up the coronavirus family, which includes COVID as well as the flu, common, cold, etc.

If you want to get vaxxed or tested, that’s your decision. I just recommend you Google search “COVID-19 rapid home tests pose risk for toxic chemical”. 85% of these “free” tests sent from this government contain sodium azide as a preservative for the liquid reagent. It’s listed as a poison by the CDC: https://emergency.cdc.gov/agent/sodiumazide/basics/facts.asp

  16. KimiB

Covid just worked it’s way through our entire family in waves. Worth noting, we all tested negative when we felt the worst then all tested positive 3 days later when we were mostly already feeling better. If you are feeling sick and worried about spreading it I wouldn’t count on a negative test to keep your loved ones safe. My husband felt a little sick for 2 days before testing negative, then went to family dinner and gave it to 8 people. Trust how you feel. Stay safe out there everyone, and be nice 😜

    • Lisa

I agree that common sense still matters. Any kind of illness should not be spread to other people. It does not need a name, lol

    • Kasey

Your husband went to a dinner and gave ‘covid’ to 8 people?! Like, was he hacking and sneezing on everyone within a foot from him? Is he not a clean person? Trying to visually picture Covid spreading from some one’s mouth and nose onto others…. Oh my gosh, thank you for the laugh today, I was feeling let down by humans.

      • Abby

Yes it does happen that quickly and easily from one, seen it with my own eyes…
Maybe go out and volunteer or travel a bit more for knowledge and empathy.

      • willowcat

It’s airborne. He doesn’t need to have sneezed, spit or anything else on anyone. Good God, people.

    • Cathy

Exactly, my daughter tested negative twice from the rapid tests even though she had symptoms & was exposed from roommates who tested positive. She finally tested positive only from the PSR test. She had a rapid & PCR done at the same time—rapid was negative, PCR was positive🤷‍♀️. I don’t trust the accuracy of these tests.

  17. Michelle1313

Wow! Took less than a minute. Thank you so much💕

    • Eden (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yes, it’s such an easy and fast process! 🙌🏼

  18. acgold

There is a glitch in the system! For those of us who live in apartments, if anyone in the building requests the kits, everyone after has a screen that says someone at this address already ordered! I hope the government fixes this.
It is crazy, even if you put in your individual apartment number.

    • Amanda7141

It should be fixed tomorrow from what I heard on the news

    • Eden (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Today was the soft launch of the program, so hopefully this problem is fixed for tomorrow’s official launch! 🤞🏼

    • Hipgrandma

Worked this morning (Wed) for me. No issues with apartment

    • Tyra

I live in an apartment and I was able to get mine. My neighbors also got theirs.

  19. Eliza

The system was not designed well in allowing only one request per address not considering multi family units such as apartments – while the same address they have different unit numbers. Only the first person who ordered a kit can get one until the issue is fixed.

    • Amanda7141

It should be fixed tomorrow from what I heard on the news

  20. Nancy

Thank you for sharing this. Very helpful. 🙂

    • Eden (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You’re welcome, Nancy!

  21. Susan

    Thank you!

  22. Samantha

Thanks H2S.Super easy to order. We prefer to be part of the solution and not part of the problem

  23. Carrie

That was super simple. No payment required just name, email, and address.

    • Eden (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yes, it barely takes a minute to fill out! 👏🏼

  24. adria

Thank you! I just ordered mine!

    • Eden (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Awesome!

  25. Dgal

Ordered mine early and had my daughter so the same. So easy! Thank you!

    • Eden (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Glad you could both order yours, Dgal!

  26. Cynthia

    Thanks for sharing!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      You’re so welcome!

  27. B

I own my house and went to register. It told me someone had requested them already even though no one in my house did.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh bummer! SO very sorry to hear that, B. I did find their customer service number if you’d want to reach out to them. (1-800-275-8777) Hoping they may be able to help!

      • B

        Thanks

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

          You’re welcome!

  28. Lisha

Received ours last week, thanks again. We live in NYC.

  29. Tracy

Can we please keep the comments on topic about the free test kits and keep your ridiculous anti test comments to yourself. No one cares!

    • Susan

Tracy (practice what you preach sweetie) but here is something to stay on topic: Search: Poison centers around the country sound alarm on chemical in some COVID-19 at-home tests

      • ToriSC

Your comment is extremely misleading. Just look in your kitchen and bathroom cabinets – that stuff is more toxic and dangerous when you don’t use it according to the instructions and intended use. Heck put your face cream in your eyes and see what happens!

  30. Jackie

I haven’t received mine. I requested the test the first day it was available. Are there other people out there who haven’t received theirs?

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

The pics in the post are from Collin – she just got hers today, and she’s in Dallas. I got mine just yesterday and I live about 45 minutes from Collin in North Texas. It looks like they are sending them out slowly.

      • Jackie

Ok, good I was thinking I was alone here. I read somewhere that they had sent the test and they were supposed to arrived like 2 weeks ago. I’m in Kansas and haven’t received anything as of today 2-15-22. Hopefully we will get it this week then if some people are starting the get theirs now. Thank you for the helpful update!

    • Kiera

I requested the first day as well, I’m in NYC. Both houses that I requested for have not gotten. I did get an update that one is coming Friday. No word on the other.

  31. Michelle

Thank you so much! I really appreciate you all!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re SO very welcome, Michelle! 💞 We truly appreciate YOU!

  32. Lisa

We ordered the first day it was available to order, and received them today.

    • Hipgrandma

      Same here. Florida and Michigan

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for your feedback, Lisa! Good to know!

  33. Jennifer

I filled out for this when it first came out. I received only one, not four.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh bummer! You should receive two boxes with two tests in each box. You could always reach out to customer service to see if they can look into this for you. (1-800-275-8777) Hope this is helpful!

    • Shea

Depending on the kit they send you may only receive one box but the kits should still contain 4 tests. My parents actually received one with 5 tests in one box.

  34. Shubam

I never got the first one.

    • Jackie

I just got my first one last week and I placed the order the first day. It’s weird how different the delivery time has been. Some people received it over a month ago others last week and this week. There is still a chance you will get yours.

  35. Connie

Read up on the latest news from these chemical filled tests. Just FYI.

    • Samantha

      Would that be FOX news??

        • Patty

          👍

        • DealLovinMama

The chemicals never come in contact with your body though. This is like telling people to be scared of using batteries because of battery acid. Obviously don’t let kids play with these tests, but if you’re an adult who can follow directions there is no concern.

          • Thriftypuppy

I didn’t tell anyone to be scared of anything and this post is over a month old! I’d like to think that adults can educate themselves and make their own decisions. Nothing wrong with alerting people that there are chemicals in these tests that can and HAVE caused over 200+ cases with poison control centers.

      • jon-0

If you watch cable news you’re old.

  36. Mona

Made in China, when is been known again and again that they aren’t reliable, same as the mask they sell.

  37. Tammy S.

Received mine and used one yesterday. I tested positive. Did a second one but did not swab, just added the droplets, came out positive again. Needless to say I won’t be trusting these.

    • Tina

Maybe… just maybe… you actually are positive for COVID…

      • Tammy S.

Thats what I thought after the 1st one was positive, but how could the second one be if I didn’t swab? I’ll just trust the doctor’s office test if needed.

    • KimiB

That’s crazy! Almost makes me want to try it 🤣

    • AmandaShivonne

Crazy! A couple members of my family took these tests and they all came out negative. Later got tested that it was just rhinovirus. (We have an extremely immune compromised daughter so wanted to be sure)

  38. grandmat57

    MADE IN CHINA! Ugh!

    • heather_03

That’s why we should get them & just toss them.

      • AmandaShivonne

What good would that do? They’ve already been purchased…

        • heather_03

Purchased with our tax money that is also used to store them

    • ac

Do you own a cell phone?
      Where was it made?

  39. Dajanny

I’d rather not and keep this trash out of our oceans! 😊

  40. vegalegarreta

    Thanks. Order placed.

    • Alli (Hip Sidekick)

      You’re so welcome! 😊

  41. Shels

We the tax payers are paying for your free tests. You are stealing from us hard working people.

    • Ariavenew

So I paid for my own, sounds like. Perfect! I’ll use them. Do you not want yours? Maybe gift them to someone you know with a larger family or something. Cheers!

      • Thriftypuppy

They have sodium azide in them and that’s listed as a poison by the CDC, so I wouldn’t give them to anyone because of that. It’s the same chemical used in airbags. https://emergency.cdc.gov/agent/sodiumazide/basics/facts.asp

Don’t believe me? Google “COVID home tests pose toxic chemical risk”

        • IrishND98

I would advise not to believe everything you read from googling a topic.

          • Thriftypuppy

If I wanted real information, I certainly wouldn’t use Google search. But thanks, Karen.

  42. Carrie

Thanks for the reminder! This was very easy!

  43. Aprillynn M Watson

    Thank you so much

  44. Valleri

    Thank you so much!! 🙂

  45. Mama6

Thank you for this. Super easy and helpful.

  46. Stacy

Has anyone submitted for reimbursement for at home tests paid for out of pocket to your commercial insurance? I submitted my receipt & form to my insurance weeks ago & still haven’t received a reimbursement check.

    • Mrs Z

We did, it took about 20 days.

    • Erin mi

I did. They said they never received it and it was mailed about 5 weeks ago. Thankfully I made copies and I am going to try to send it again. Be sure to make copies!

  48. LucySkyDiamonds

Hip2Save – again the comment section has devolved into a nasty, political, and misinformation campaign by many. It makes me less likely to click on your posts that have anything to do with the pandemic. I don’t know why you don’t just shut down comments when this happens.

    • alex

I struggle to understand why anyone would click on an unwanted item, then inject negativity.
I don’t have babies, so why would I click on a diaper sale. If you don’t want masks or covid tests, simply move on! H2S works hard to provide a huge variety of deals and consumer information, thank you.

  49. Dddavid

Thanks, I had forgotten about this!

    • Alli (Hip Sidekick)

      You’re welcome! 🙌

  50. Angie Sperry

Thank you. However I have taken 2 of these tests and another party in my house took two and all came back negative for covid but at Dr we both tested positive for covid within the past 1.5 weeks just and fyi
