Unfortunately, I do not recommend staples. I have used the past 2 years and the matte cards are awful quality and the cuts are pretty rough looking. One positive is – they are speedy!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh bummer! Sorry to hear you haven’t been pleased with the cards from Staples. Thanks for letting us know about your experience! ❤️

      • Kelly

I have used Staples for the last 4 years and the quality has been great! Since they are made on site I wonder if there’s some variability between stores. Groupon has had a great offer for Staples the past few years.

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh good! Thanks, Kelly! SO glad you’ve been pleased with your cards from Staples! 💖🙌

  2. Amy

I had the same experience with Staples. I tried them two different years, and the photos were printed so dark I didn’t bother to send them out.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh no! Sorry to hear they turned out to dark! Thanks for commenting, Amy. 💖

    • Kim

Can you use the Walgreens promo code on the in-store photo kiosk? My pictures are on camera cards so I can’t upload onto their website.

      • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yes! I just checked the offer details and code MORESTAT can be used at the photo kiosk! 🙌

  3. Erin

I agree with the comments above about Staples. I’ve kept trying them and each year they are worse than the last. I’m curious if anyone has used Sam’s???? I’d love some personal reviews on their “flat cards.” THANKS!!

  4. MrsA

I agree with the Staples in-store printing. I’m not sure if this is still available, but in the past, I have opted to have my cards shipped to me for an extra $10 shipping fee. When you have the cards shipped, they are printed offsite (by their lab?) and take about 2 weeks to arrive. Those cards come out on matte cardstock. A bit thinner than Shutterfly, but much better than the in-store paper (which feels more like postcard advertisement mailers). I would say they are similar to Costco’s cardstock cards or Snapfish.

    • Claudette (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the honest feedback, MrsA!! Good to know that the option to have them shipped has worked for you.

    • Erin

I did the shipping option. One year was okay but after that still not great. 🙁

  5. Kristen

Also wondering about the sams “card stock type” photo cards. The foil ones are so reasonable and I want to pull the trigger. But I’ve had the Walgreens ones before and they were so bad. I’ve only ever had good ones from Shutterfly. Would love samscluv feedback also.

    • Erin

I got my Sam’s card stock photo cards and am REALLY pleased. So much better than Staples has been the last few years!!

      • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing the service you prefer, Erin! We sure appreciate your helpful feedback! 💓

  6. EB

I would also love some feedback on Sams, Costco and Walmart photo cards.

    • SS

I always get my cards from walmart, just the 5×7 photo paper ones and I have never been disappointed.

    • Mama Mak

I have used Costco every year until last year. I have never been disappointed, great quality/price. Last year we used Staples locally due to time and they were terrible. This year I am trying Staples online due to Costco not having a card in a style I like for the number of pictures I need. If it’s a bust, I will go back to Costco.

      • Claudette (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks, Mama Mak! We sure appreciate you sharing this feedback.💞 Please come back and report on your Staples cards for this year.

  7. Sara

You can get 10 free cards from Shutterfly with code FREECARDS (expires 11/25/22). You have to pay shipping.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the heads up on that offer, Sara! 🥰

  8. Alexandra Allen

We’ve ordered Sam’s Club ones for the past 6 years and love the quality! We send out 100 cards every year.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

SWEET! Glad to hear they have been high-quality throughout the years, Alexandra! 🙌❤️

  9. mamabear426

My go-to is walgreens, I do double sided with a little bit about our year on one side and for close family, like parents, grandparents and siblings I get the front printed magnet style. It’s been a hit for years, especially with grandparents and I love the variety in designs.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

LOVE this idea of incorporating a Christmas “letter” for family in with the card! Thanks so much for taking a moment to share what you do! 🎄❤️

      • Cassie

Will Walgreens go cheaper than 60% off All Cards & Premium Stationery (MORECARDS60) and free addressing (RETURNFREE)? Thanks so much!

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You’re welcome, Cassie! We’ll keep an eye out for any deeper discounts that may pop up! 👀💖

  10. Katie

Just picked up my photo cards from Walgreens and they are TERRIBLE Quality.

    • Amanda T

I find that around us, it COMPLETELY varies by location. Near our old house, CVS was amazing and Walgreens was horrid, since we moved, I found the opposite to be true. It’s definitely worth sending a small order over to see how their print quality is before sending a large one. On the other hand, they’ve never hesitated to refund my order if I was unhappy with the quality.

  11. Sara

I’ve done Staples for the past few years. I’m very happy with how fast they are when you pick up in the store. They are not stellar quality, but not having to pay to ship and being available that day or the next day is a win for me. With coupons, the price at Staples is good as well. I did a pick-up at Walgreens last year and it was a total mess. It took over a week past the pick-up date and when I sent my husband to the store they could not find the order. The Walgreens quality was adequate and I chose a glossy option.
For me, price, not paying for shipping, and getting the order correct the first time is a big factor. My only complaint is that Staples has a “no pet” sign on the door. My dog is my child, so I typically stay away from places that don’t allow dogs in stores.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing your experience with each Walgreens and Staples! Good to know how they turned out for you. 💞

  12. D

Hi, wondering if anyone has done the Walmart cards using card stock? We usually do Shutterfly but its getting so expensive 🙁 Thanks for any feedback!

  13. Gigi

I used to use Costco every year when they printed them in the warehouse because they were great quality, great price, and fast. I could pick them up in warehouse quickly after I ordered online. They gave extra envelopes too and adding on 25 more cards was very inexpensive. I have not used them since the photo center left my warehouse. My Walgreens has been hit or miss with printing quality.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for taking a moment to share about your experience at Costco and Walgreens. We sure appreciate it! 💕 Have you found an option that you love more? We’d love to hear more about it! 🥰

      • Gigi

I used Sam’s online this year and am not having a good experience. I ordered cards a week ago and they aren’t ready yet. I just called them and they don’t know when they will be ready. And then it will take at least another 5 to 7 days to ship. It sounds like my chances of getting them to everyone by Christmas are slim to none. Now I wish I had stayed with Walgreens….at least I could pick them up in person next day and would have already mailed them.

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SO sorry to hear that, Gigi. Thanks so much for the update on your Sam’s Club order. Hoping you receive your cards soon! 🤞❤️

  14. Melymel

Code “send-joy” for 60% off Walgreens photo cards until 12/31/22

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh cool! Thanks so much for sharing! 🤗

    • Kay

U R a lifesaver. Thank u so much. I was so sad when the 50% code didn’t work cause it expired days ago. I thought I would have to keep looking for deals elsewhere, which I wasn’t sure about. No Sams club membership. Costco might not arrive till 12/23. Staples across town n lots of bad reviews. Repeatedly bad experiences with Walmart photo, so that leaves me with Walgreens. But I use them a lot n trust them. It’s same day pick up n it’s 2 miles away. So glad I read the comments, all the way down to yours. Your 60% code is perfect. I can’t thank u enough for taking the time to share. Walgreens would have been too expensive without your code.

    • jhaney1

Thank you so very much for posting this 60% off code!!! I was in panic mode at the thought of not getting my cards organized and mailed out yet!!!!! I usually do the Staples deal but it expired on Groupon…so Hip2Save and the amazing Hipsters to the rescue AGAIN!!!!! Bless you and Happy Holidays!

      • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

How sweet! Happy you could grab the savings you needed! Happy Holidays! ❤️🎄

      • jhaney1

I picked up the cards this morning before work. AND, I am thrilled to report, they are AMAZING!!!!! They turned out great and Walgreens is much user friendlier then Staples! So, now I’m ready for the holidays with the cards already addressed, stamped, and in the mail! WHEW!!!!! Thanks for helping me check this off my “to do” list!!!!! Appreciate you all so very much! Happiest of Holidays and a blessed New Year!♥️

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Woohoo! You’re so welcome! 🎉 Glad to hear how great they turned out! 🙌Thanks a TON for the update! Happy Holidays and Happy New year to you too! 💖🎄💞
