I love the square design but wish there was a lid available. It makes great omelettes. For all my cast iron, I sand it thoroughly to as smooth a surface as I can make. Then, I season it, usually with coconut oil or lard. That makes for an excellent cooking surface! Only hand wash without soap.

I ordered this small skillet so I could make cornbread for two as a regular-sized cornbread mix gets lost in my big iron skillet. Turns out, you can use the mini skillet and half of a cornbread mix. While this works, I may keep looking for a medium-sized iron skillet.

Good value for the money. Small, personal-sized cast iron skillets are perfect for creative dinners or just cooking for one or two people. I have only had them for a short while but perfect for eggs, reheating dishes, etc. While they claim to be pre-seasoned, wash well with dish soap and water and go through some seasoning on your own. The surface of the skillet has bumps which will reduce over time. Until then, make sure you coat the cooking surface before use, and heat before using. This will help with non-stick capabilities until well seasoned. Well worth the price so far!

I use this on the grill while cooking to keep marinade, BBQ sauce or other things hot that are used while grilling.
