Check out these awesome reviews…

Both my husband and I have diabetes and have been looking for a substitute for some time now that does not leave an alcohol flavor. Up to now, we have been using the Truvia Baking blend but that has sugar in it. While the taste is good it needs extra baking soda and/or baking powder to rise. I found this King Arthur substitute a couple of months ago and gave it a try today while my adult daughter was gone. She loves the Starbucks Lemon pound cake alternative I have made. She could smell it when she came home and took a big piece before we could tell her what I had used. She loves it as do my husband and I. The pound cake rose like it had all the sugar. I did use the Truvia powdered sugar for the icing but will try the King Arthur next time to see if I can get it smooth enough. All it all this King Arthur sweetener is our go-to sugar substitute from here on out.

I have tried all sugar substitutes (swerve, lankato, etc) and this King Arthur is the only one that does not give me the cooling effect. I highly recommend this product in your low-carb sweets.

Time to try one of our delicious low carb recipes!

  2. k_thompson78

I’d be curious if there was a cooling effect with this one?

    • Nicole (Hip Sidekick)

Hi k_thompson78! While I have never personally tried this substitute, I did find several reviews that state there is no cooling effect. Here is just one from Amazon:

“I have been keto on and off for years. I finally found an amazing sugar substitute…King Arthur’s Baking Sugar Alternative. ZERO cooling effect and no aftertaste… NONE! Now, I need to make something with their keto wheat flour so I can see how they play together.”

Produced on shared equipment with wheat, so not ‘Celiac safe’ gluten-free, only safe for gluten-free fad dieters 😥

The first ingredient is erythritol. That stuff upsets my stomach. Just watch that.
