I love this stuff!! I have 90% grey hair and this root touch-up matches my hair dye color perfectly!! It’s so easy to apply with the sponge applicator, which is why I decided to try it out. I’ve used sprays, which you don’t get a lot of, and brush applicator methods, but the sponge is the easiest and faster. You also get a lot of products in this. The color match is so perfect, the best I’ve ever found. This one is more expensive than some others, but it’s the color match that makes me love it. It stays in until I wash it, I can dunk my head in the water and it stays on! I 100% recommend it! You can even use it on your eyebrows, I have done that. I’m definitely buying this again when it’s finished!
I use this on any alopecia spots that I can’t hide very easily with certain hairstyles. I still use my own hair to cover small bald spots however sometimes they can still show through in certain areas like the top of my head. I wash my hair every other day and this powder lasts with only one application in between hair washes. So that’s how I’m able to justify the cost since it does last me a while. I have what is considered chestnut brown hair and the medium brown is a perfect match.
Over the years, I have tried every product on the market, including the spray version of Style Edit, and this is the only thing that has ever worked to cover my resistant gray roots between salon appointments. Everything else I have used over the years would seem to glide on my hair, but not really stick, and would not truly cover the gray. This stuff, by contrast, is like magic. It is thick enough to really cling to your hair and cover the roots. Also, I expected it to be gone by the next morning and to have to reapply it every day, but to my happy surprise, it stayed in place until my next shampoo. Lisa, I hate to color my hair so often because it’s very damaging. I use to use the sprays and they were pricy, you go through them quickly, and they are messy to apply (I would find spray on my counter, floor and white bathroom cabinets). I’m 50% grey and 100% grey on my part line. I love this product. I do not find the sponge application messy (as some reviewers state). This product last forever! I routinely go about 3 months now between coloring. It’s a little tricky in the summer with swimming so I try and time my coloring accordingly. The product does not come off on my pillow at night. I don’t wash my hair daily since it’s so dry and coarse and occasionally I do need to reapply some powder in the morning …not sure where it goes because it isn’t on my white pillow case. I’ve been so happy with the product. So much better than the sprays. You’ll love it. 😉

I have single gray hairs that are as long as my normal hair in certain areas of my head. Do you think this would work on those hairs? They may be hard to isolate from my hair that isn’t gray.
Hi Erica! I think this can work, but I’m not sure if you’d be able to separate the single strands of gray from the rest of your hair. I would just rub the pad through the length of my hair wherever it was gray. Hope that helps!

I have a back-part that makes it look like I’m balding. I put Style Edit directly on my scalp and back-part quickly disappears!

I love their spray – use it regularly on my part but it is hard to get the spray to cover my temples and areas right at my face without getting it on my face (and thus, staining my face). I’m going to try this. With both the spray and powder, I hope I can cover all of the grey!

Does it leave residue on pillows or clothing?
Hi there! If you were to apply it and right away and then were to lay down on a pillow you might see some of the coloring rub off, but overall I definitely have not had issues with this getting on clothing or pillows!
