My 1-year-old got this for his birthday and got the hang of it right away. My 3-year-old son loves to hit the drums really fast, and my 5-year-old daughter is interested in making actual music with these, but it would probably be a toy she really is too mature for if it were to be gifted to her.
It isn’t very loud, which, depending on your personal preference, can be a good thing or a bad thing. I like the noise level because it is just enough to hear, but not too loud to want to keep your ears covered while they play with it.
We bought this for our one-year-old and he absolutely loves it. His two-year-old sister enjoys it as well. I really like that the drumsticks are rubber as my one-year-old is teething and still chews on things. It includes games like “follow the light” which my kids enjoy. It also has a volume control which is nice for mom. I would definitely purchase this as a gift.

When I first saw this toy I thought it looked so lame. I still can’t believe how much use we got out of it. My son loved it for years and years and all the kids that came over. Loved it to. So crazy the things kids like to play with!
