Do your kids LOVE making slime? 🙋♀️
Mine definitely do! I’m sharing our latest favorite DIY for how to make puffy slime that’s a little thicker than traditional slime and needs just three main ingredients.
This is such a fun activity that would be perfect for rainy days with the kiddos!
Hip tips for creating DIY puffy slime:
- I recommend using Elmer’s glue and the Purex Stay-Flo brand of starch. I’ve tried another brand of starch in the past that didn’t work out as well.
- I also recommend using the foam type of shaving cream instead of gel to enhance the puffiness of the slime.
- If you find that your slime is still too sticky after a bit of stretching, you can try adding a little more shaving foam as a fix.
- To store the puffy slime, I like using small condiment containers. They’re perfect for the kiddos to take small batches for fun on the go!

Such a simple 3-ingredient slime DIY!
This is such a great craft for kids to make with only a few ingredients and nearly no time at all. Feel free to customize with your favorite colorings or scents if desired.
Here’s a batch I made using pink Glitter Glue! ☝
I love that this recipe is very forgiving with exact amounts! To make the second batch, I only had 1 cup of glitter glue and I just sort of eye-balled the other two ingredients without measuring closely. It actually turned out great!
After you’re done playing with the slime, store it in a covered jar, Tupperware, or plastic bag and it will keep for a while! My kids love making this with their friends. I’ve got to say that I actually like joining in too!
