Best Buy Recalls Insignia Air Fryers Due to Fire & Burn Hazards

Best Buy has announced a recall of about 635,000 Insignia Air Fryers and Air Fryer Ovens, after receiving more than 100 reports of them catching fire, burning, or melting. These incidents include seven reports of minor property damage and two reports of injuries, including one injury to a child’s leg.

This recall includes Insignia Digital Air Fryers, Analog Air Fryers, and Digital Air Fryer Ovens with cooking chamber capacities ranging from approximately 3.4 to 10 quarts, and plastic or plastic and stainless-steel bodies in black and stainless-steel finishes.

The company said the products were sold in US and Canadian Best Buy stores and online at bestbuy.com, eBay.com, and Google.com from November 2018 through February 2022 for between $30 and $150. The following model numbers (found on the bottom of each unit) are affected:

Best Buy is contacting all known purchasers directly to arrange returns via pre-paid shipping labels. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and return them to Best Buy for a refund in the form of store credit. Store credit will be issued in the amount of $50 or the purchase price on your receipt, whichever is greater. Consumers do not need a purchase receipt to claim the $50 credit.
