Does your air fryer get lots of use like mine?

In my kitchen, we use the air fryer almost every single day. It’s truly the most used kitchen appliance in our household! I make easy air fryer meals and sides for dinner, my teens use it to cook foods like frozen chicken nuggets for lunch, and not to mention that using the air fryer is THE BEST way to heat up leftovers.

Basically, I’m in love with my air fryer, and jump at every opportunity to use it!

Over the years, my air fryer basket started looking pretty ragged!

I’ve had this PowerXL air fryer for the last 3 years and it has worked like a champ. That said, the basket started to discolor pretty badly after constant use. No amount of scrubbing would take off the stains, and the non-stick coating even started coming off in some areas.

Did you know you can purchase replacement air fryer baskets?!

It’s true! So instead of buying a new air fryer, I simply replaced the basket — and it has worked perfectly for the last 6 months! In fact, this highly-rated RAMLY air fryer basket has held up even better than the one that came with my machine.

This replacement basket is non-stick making it easy to remove stuck-on foods. It’s also dishwasher safe, really high-quality, and affordable at around $25 on Amazon.com. I’m kinda proud that this late-night Amazon purchase turned out to be a win! 😂

It even came with a little screwdriver and hardware too!

Installation is super easy. You just have to unscrew the handle from the original air fryer basket and attach it to the new one using the provided screws. My replacement is compatible with the PowerXL and GoWise brands. Just be sure to pick the correct size to go with your air fryer. You can even measure your basket to be sure the replacement will fit.

For other brands, you could always do a quick “replacement air fryer basket” search on Amazon to find one compatible with your specific air fryer.

This turned out to be a great solution to keep my air fryer looking new without purchasing a new one! I hope this simple tip is helpful to anyone whose appliance could use a refresh.

I’ve been using parchment paper this is made specifically for air fryers. It has numerous holes punched thru it so the air circulates. It keeps my air fryer clean and the coating hasn’t come off as a result.

    • Deb

Where do you get this? What is the brand name? Thanks

      • Bunny

Found it on Amazon. You would need to measure the inside of your air fryer (some are round, some are square-ish). There are many different kinds…just put “air fryer parchment paper” and your size in the search engine.

    • Jackie

I thought about getting them until a friend told me hers caught on FIRE! Be careful because if you don’t have food covering the entire paper giving it weight it will fly off (even just a tiny corner) and touch the heat coil and catch fire.

      • Jen3363

        Yes! This happened to me!

    • Maggie

The air-fryer parchment paper with the round holes in it is sometimes also sold as liners for rice steamers too — same product. I’ve been using it for years in my air fryer and it never gets cruddy–still looks almost new, despite heavy use. The only thing you have to watch is that the basket needs to be fully covered with food (i.e., not just one small item like an egg roll snack) so that the parchment doesn’t fly up into the heating element.

Oh no, and I just threw my fryer out and bought a new one because of the basket…😩

Never fell into the “air fryer craze”. But after looking at the condition and residue in that old basket -“good job -me”

    • lexiloowho

You’re missing out they are easy and awesome! The condition of the basket after repeated use is no different than wear/spots on a cookie sheet after repeated use. If you use it often it gets broken in.

Ha it means it was used a ton. 💕🙌

Air fryers are THE BEST. So if you don’t have one you are missing out on food that cooks fast, tastes better and the best part is that it’s healthier. The reason Linas baskets looks like that is because she uses it every day. Meaning it’s a useful appliance in the kitchen. I am on my 3rd airfryer and I don’t think I could survive without it. I used it at least 3times a day. Not only food cooks faster and it’s healthier but since I purchased my 1st airfryer 5-6 years ago I haven’t used my big oven that much. I got rid of my toaster oven also because I never used it after the airfryer. I will NEVER go back to cooking without an airfryer!!!

Could anyone share your opinion/tip about whether to get a brand new bread machine or replace the pan please? Mine is 1-year old hamilton beach, works fine, except the pan is leaking oil now. The pan is about half of the price a brand new machine. thanks

    • Erin

If it is only a year old, have you tried contacting the manufacturer to see what they recommend? Maybe they’ll offer you a replacement if it is under warranty. I wouldn’t use an appliance leaking oil. And to be honest, if the company doesn’t replace it, I’d go with a better brand. New breadmakers (and ice cream makers and other one-trick pony appliances) often end up at Goodwill, especially after Christmas and “wedding season.” 😂

      • Sue

Thanks Erin for your suggestions. It is a little over one year. I guess I will get a new one. I am also debating whether I should get a bread machine or a stand mixer for the dough knead function. Counter space is limited so that I can’t get both.

        • Maggie

If you bought it with a credit card, check to see if your credit card doubles the warranty on purchases with it. You might have a 1-year warranty get doubled to 2 years! Some cards do this and handle the extra warranty instead of the manufacturer — American Express, and some MC/Visa cards include this as a perk. Am Ex is honest great about helping with stuff like this.

We use a round disposal tin pans from the dollar tree in our air fryer! They come in a pack of 4! It works great! It can be used several times before it has to be thrown away and it keeps the basket clean!

    • SteelersChick

That sounds like a great alternative to foil/parchmentl, for lightweight items, cuz in mine, it all flys unless there is a lot in it or something heavy! LoL

  6. Pat Goff

Smart Lady. To many people just send stuff to the landfill without trying to fix it themselves. With the internet you can almost fix anything. My brothers always fix my washer and dryer so I don’t have to buy a new one. LOL

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks Pat! That’s so nice of your family to do that – love it!

  7. Melissa

Thank you so much for this post. My basket looks like yours too and actually the screws came loose and eventually the handle fell off so I was looking to find screws to replace with no luck. This is amazing!!!!

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh nice! I hope this does the trick for ya!

      • Mother

Do they have the handle part replaced too? Ours fell and the button that clicks into the main part is loose.

        • Claudette (Hip Sidekick)

Hey Mother! I’m not seeing the handle but it does come with screws that may help with tightening the loose parts.❤️

  8. John

Thanks for this article. I use my Air Fryer a lot. Seeing your article, I see that I am not a unclean person when cleaning it. I see demos on cooking different foods with the Air Fryer on YouTube it seems they all have super clean baskets.

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks John for stopping by and yes mine was very much real life! Ha

  9. Mama Bear Lind

I love this idea! I’ve been thinking about a new one for the same reason!

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh good! Thanks for stopping by!
