Love IKEA?

Now that I’ve shared some of my favorite IKEA products that require little to no assembly, I’m excited to share some amazingly inexpensive IKEA products (all under $10!) that our team loves! So the next time you’re strolling through that big blue store, feeling a bit overwhelmed, you’ll know just what’s worth scooping up.

Hip Tip: Check out our complete guide to shopping at IKEA!

This is one IKEA product we’re in love with:

Any genius kitchen gadget that’s multi-functional, doesn’t take up a lot of room, and it just downright handy to have is a total winner in my book! This IKEA colander is collapsible and stores flat, plus it can also pull double duty! Either open it all the way and use it as a strainer or collapse it halfway so you can steam some perfect veggies on the stove.

Here are some other reasons we think you’ll love this gadget:

  • Dishwasher safe
    • Withstands temps up to 428°F
  • Stable bottom
    • Ensures that it will stand evenly
  • Multipurpose
    • Steamer
    • Colander
  • Totally collapsible
    • Easy to store
    • Doesn’t take up much space
    • Stores flat
  • Made of silicone rubber
    • Safe for food
  • It’s only $9.99!

Here’s why Cass from our team loves her colander:

“I actually bought this silicone strainer on a total whim (like most other purchases made at IKEA. LOL!) and it quickly has become one of my most used kitchen multi-taskers!

And hello… it’s only $9.99!

It’s so functional, too! I love to use it as a strainer to wash produce and as a steamer basket. I even sometimes use it as a garbage bowl for scraps when I cook, which has become incredibly handy!

Folding it up is simple too and it saves a ton of space in the dishwasher. We keep it hung for easy access – it’s such an awesome little gadget for small kitchens like mine!”

Here’s what others had to say about their IKEA KLOCKREN Colander:

“I bought this for my camper and it was the best choice ever! It fits right beside my collapsible dish rack. If you’re needing to conserve space like me, this product is the perfect thing for you!”

– Kacey ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“I totally love this colander! I actually hung it on the inside of my cabinet door for easy access. It’s such a great value and so handy to have around!”

– Shannon ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“This thing is so cool! I love that it’s adjustable so it fits many different size saucepans. If I want to steam veggies, just place a lid on top and for pasta, it works as a wonderful colander. I love that the material cools down quick and folds up flat for storage! I was surprised I liked it so much since it’s just a colander, but this thing is great!”

– Dana ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Anyone know if this would work as a steamer in the instant 6 qt? Will it fit?

I don’t have this one but I have one similar and love it! So easy to store!

I’m so glad you found this post useful Ruby! If you scoop one up let me know how you like it! 🙂

I have another brand that I won in a giveaway and have used for several years now. Only thing I found was my mini lentils (not the regular size) get stuck in the holes when rinsing/straining, and I have to pop them out! Super nice to store in a small apartment kitchen though. I’ve since bought a mesh stainless steel strainer basket for my instant pot, which strains those baby lentils nicely!

Keep an eye out at Target. I got the Oxo collander on clearance for around $10 about a month ago. I noticed some stores also carry another brand that comes in other shapes (rectangle) and sizes.

Oooh, thanks for the heads up, Erin!

I use this exact one in my camper. It’s great for camping. It’s light weight and takes up practically no room. Best thing ever.
