Hahaha! Oh my gosh, this is me on weekdays, for sure. Only with uglier bowls. 🙂

    • Danisha

Meaning MY bowls are uglier, not yours. In case that came off wrong.

      • Ann

Danisha, that made me laugh. I knew what you meant, but your clarification made my day. 🙂

  2. mm

    Haha love the photo Collin😂

  3. hurleysurf

Pardon my french how funny girl!!!! Lololol lol thanks for the laugh👏

  4. lizz

Haha…can totally relate to the lost new shoe!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

It seems every single morning there is also something new that’s missing. 😉

    • Ger

It seems I always have a sock monster at our house!!! Smh lol

  5. Heather C

Buahaha! I’d offer to let my kids drive themselves to school, but my 15 year old would take me up on it…. Heck, we’re in sunny CA, my kids are teens, they can walk. They think k it’s gonna kill them!!!!!

  6. Jennifer

Love the pic!!! This how I look in the mornings begging my kids to eat something, anything!!!😩😩😩

  7. Sonya

People are probably going to take this the wrong way,but “home” pictures make this site look not as professional. Just saying!

    • anna

I don’t think so! I love the idea of the “home” pictures. I feel like I can relate to them. Collin is so much fun and this is what makes the Hip2Save site wonderful! Thank you for all you do Collin. Not only do you help us find great deals, you make us laugh too:) Always keep it real, that’s what makes Hip2Save A fun site to visit. 🙂

      • jkp

you are absoulty right. We have to have some fun in the morning.

    • Kaylee

Well it’s a good thing this site isn’t for professionals! It’s for REAL moms! I love that she offers solutions for everyday people and can make it relatable!

    • ohiogirl

      ?

    • meg

Then maybe you should start your own blog so it can be what you think “professional” looking is. Cause no one can save money or get a deal unless the site looks all “professional “. Seriously.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Sonya,

I’m definitely all about keepin’ it real on Hip2Save, so I guess that means not being professional all the time. I personally really like when I see real life pictures – not Pinterest worthy pics. However, we definitely have those on our site as well because our recipe/DIY gal, Lina, ROCKS and knows how to use a camera! 😊

As for me, I am going to stick with doing the UN-professional thing. 😉

      • Melanie

        👍🏼😄

      • Missy

Professionalism shows each day with the management and facilitating of awesome deals!
This is my favorite blog…all because of your personality…it’s personable and you are the same and have been the same since the beginning…
Thanks for all that you do!

          • sann

The way that you organize the deals and have the links ready for us as well as step by step instructions is what totally makes this work for me. 😀

        • Laura Lou

I agree with you Missy! Love Hip2Save! Way to go Collin and her team!

      • Ger

I love your Real Life pics Collin!!! Us Moms can totally relate! Lol and thank you so much for always helping us save $$$! I even have my hubby talking about Hip2Save😜 loves when I wear my Hip Shirt! 😍

My thumbs down is for sonya! Collin u r the best!!!!!!

    • Danisha

I LOVEEEEE the home pictures. It allows me to feel a more personal connection with you gals. Keep it up, girlfriend!

    • Amanda

Sonya. Seriously?? You should look elsewhere. We don’t need your patronizing type on here

    • Sheila

There are many other sites. I choose this one as my #1 because of the “home” pics. I can relate to real people, that’s why I’m here.

    • Melissa

I disagree. I think the site is very professional, but real. Several years ago I used to follow a number of deal/coupon blogs, and eventually got down to two sites. Now I just follow Hip2save. What I came to dislike about the other formerly favorite blog was that it had become too slick. It lost a sense of realness to me in the process. It was like the fake perfect front so many people try to present on social media: Perfect photography, perfect bodies, perfect lives, perfect children, etc. Give me some humor mixed in with reality any day in contrast to sterile fake perfection.

      • Holly

The realness gives it the edge and made it my fave as well.

    • Lolita

Interesting because to me they usually they look staged… (so like a professional “home” pictures). It doesn’t bother me that they look professionally staged, I feel it is the sentiment that counts and they are conveying the sentiment professionally…. not that it would matter if they wanted to convey it in a different way. I love H2S and I think they are doing an awesome job of being relate-able and like-able!

  8. ohiogirl

Thanks Collin for the great recipes and for keeping it real. You always make me smile ☺

  9. Just Me

Sugar with grits not cheese! Lol

    • Renee

Sugar is for cream of wheat! Cheese is definitely for grits!! 😂 this is making me so hungry

    • Chelwood

LOL, there was a huge debate about sugar, salt, or nothing at all in grits a few months ago. The memes were hilarious.

  10. Sandy

Just my opinion, but I love the pics and that she consistently keeps it real. Keep up the good work Hip2Save!

  11. Julie

Love it! This is what I feel like in the mornings. Thanks for keeping it real 🙂

  12. Crissy

Keep up the good work and ignore the “professional” thing. We love it just how it is!!!

  13. Dawn

Collin, you have let us into your life and I truly appreciate you! I know many of us Hip2Save followers think of you as a girlfriend…who just happens to share amazing deals to help our families get more for our hard earned money. Your honesty and keeping it real is why you have thousands of followers. You have shared your beloved Ma, sister Bryn, your kids, and your husband with us along with personal struggles you have gone through, just as all of us do! Please keep sharing and I think you’re fabulous!! 💗

    • Sandy

      Well said!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thank you. Your sweet comment sure means a lot to me. ❤️

  14. Chris

I love love love your website! Great tips on breakfast. I am not a morning person so this post really helps me get breakfast idea. I love the deals you post and you seem so down to earth! It makes my day….everyday! 😃

  15. Melissa

I am so thankful that you and your team have a strong backbone and do not take things personal. My grandmother always told me it takes all kinds to make the world go round 😉!! Just remember you would not have thousands of followers if you where not doing something right!! I check your site all day long….love all the deals and posts!! You make my day everyday!! I have to sit back and laugh at people who always have to throw in a negative word. You know some people are just never happy with anything. Kind of like my mother in law….if you gave the women a million dollars….she would not be happy because the bills where not all fives!!
Keep doing what you and your team are doing!! You all are AWESOME!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awww…. thanks, Melissa! 😃 I sure appreciate the comment and will pass along to the team.

  16. Aleshia

Does anyone else feel like they are scrolling through nothing but ads lately? It takes me much longer to look through everything and makes my phone stall. It is really annoying, especially when I accidentally click on one if the ads. It seems like every other post another ad pops up.

    • Jessie

No…but ads keep the site free for us. I’ll deal with it if I’m benefiting from Collin’s posts.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Aleshia,

Thanks for your comment and feedback! One of the ways that Hip2Save is supported is via ads – the revenue from the ads allows me to pay for hosting, web development, my awesome team of sidekicks, the free email newsletter, Hip2Save sponsored giveaways etc. My goal has always been to place ads on the site that are not obtrusive or obnoxious so I truly appreciate your feedback and I will definitely take it into account as future changes are made to the site.

      • Aleshia

But it was never like this before only the past few weeks. I am not talking about pop up ads that will all of a sudden pop up on screen. I am talking about ads that are on the physical page that seem to be after almost every single post. They are the same size boxes as the hip2save posts so it gets frustrating. I don’t care if she gets paid advertisement but why can’t it be like every other page and have the ads moved off to side to avoid feeling hounded by these advertisements? I counted six ads scrolling through the post and it seems that there are more ads per page than actual post.

    • Karen

Hmmm…it must be your phone. I’ve never had this problem.

      • Aleshia

It is not pop up ads. These are ad boxes that are strategically placed right after a post. They are the same size as the post so they blend in with all of the post. It would be so much easier to show you what I am talking about if I could screen shot it. It isn’t anything rude or mean about her or the site. I have been a follower of Hers since day one. Back then she was actually very against advertisements only the past year it seems that she has taken on more advertising and many times it isn’t just the ad boxes. A lot of the time I feel like we are trying to be sold on things like the squaty potty, and certain online jewelry stores., and other online retailers. The site used to be strictly deals and money saving tips. Now the site is basically half advertisement and sale pitches. Once again I have always been a huge fan of this site. I don’t mind ad endorsements, I just get bothered by the placement if then. I also don’t care for the sales pitches for other companies.

        • Lolita

I think it may be on your phone… I am using a desktop and I don’t even notice the ads (maybe some on the sides, and one spot on the bottom, but they don’t bother me at all… It’s definitely not like so many other sites I have been to that drive me bananas!!!!

    • ohiogirl

I have the H2S app on my android and I do not get any ads. Not sure what may be causing that for you.

    • Brindha

No ads for me in the app… when I go to the website though seeing 1 ad every 4 to 5 posts… doesn’t bother me as I have gone to many blogs where it has ridiculous number of ads before u finish a single post…. seriously!!! Even then that’s what earns them revenue to keep them going and helping all of us. So no biggie 🙂 BTW Love the hip2save app Collin… only app that will never be deleted from my phone 😉

    • art

Aleshia, I actually understand. They make my page “jump” too and I end up clicking one of the “popular today” or whatever posts.

      • CICi

Same thing has been happening to me for about a month

        • Rachel

For me too, it doesn’t seem to be a problem on my laptop but just my phone.

  17. Erika

I personally love things just the way they are, Collin, “home” pictures and all. I find it refreshing and relatable that you remain so humble and down to earth despite your large following. I LOVE that about you and your crew! Thank you for all you do and keep up the awesome content, including messy-haired pics! 😋😋

    • Amy

Agreed! I love how down to earth Collen and Team are. A year or so I submitted a B1G1 Kerug code to the team as a hip deal. My mistake it was a one time use code, she sent me a message asking how she could make this right. I said it wasn’t a big deal, I was sent 4 boxes of K-Cups (autographed because she is awesome like that). What other big bloggers would go out of their way for followers. You are amazing and are doing everything spectacular. Thank you for all you do!

  18. Mary

I love it! Sounds like me ….. perfect timing, as school starts tomorrow! Thanks for posting.

  19. Linz

Love everything about this post! I just happily bookmarked two of the recipes as well. The Caramelized Apple Oatmeal looks amazing. Thanks for sharing!

    • sann

      How do you bookmark something?

  20. Mel

Thanks so much for this! My back-to-school resolution is to try to cut back on processed packaged foods and this will help so much! My hubby will be thankful too! 😄

  21. jbailey134

I love the site. It feels like your getting advice from a friend.

  22. Chelwood

Thank you for sharing your world with us Collin. Your pictures are hilarious and they don’t take away from the professionalism of your site. If anything, they show the reality of a working mom with school aged kids. Keep on, keeping on. I appreciate the deals and the recipes. I might actually get my bf to learn how to cook with a slow cooker, so a huge thank you from a girl who is tired of eating hamburger helper 😉

  23. Colleen

Collin – a serious thank you for all you do. I’ve been reading your site for 5+ years and I can’t tell you how much money you’ve saved our growing family. I used to read other sites, but now I only read yours (about 15 times a day) because it’s so down to earth and relatable. It’s nice to see your pictures and go “wow – I do that too” or “I feel that way too”! As moms it’s so important to build each other up and have solidarity – thanks for being so down to earth! You rock!

  24. ann

the caramel banana pecan casserole looks Thanksgiving worthy. and it won’t need precious oven space on the big day!

For back to school breakfasts I made big batches of pancakes and waffles last week then froze them so that this week the kids can just warm them up and have homemade breakfast in 30 seconds. 🙁 school starts this week for us. ugh so soon.

  25. karla_koolestever

I love the photo! I don’t have kids but that’s how my mornings look and feel like too. Great breakfast ideas too.

Part of why I love this blog so much is because Collin and team are relatable! I also like the H2S community of readers and the (mostly) positive feedback and comments. Keep up the great work!

  26. Brandi Pawluk

I thought I was the only one still using my Boom Lawn Bottle drying rack for dishes. Love the pic and love the site. You are amazing Collin!

  27. nin

So, I got rid of my slow cooker when I got a pressure cooker last year. I should still be able to do most of these in the pressure cooker just shorter times? Anyone do that? Thanks.

My kids would be psyched for some of these!
