Sham-rock and roll with these St. Patrick’s day snacks! ☘️
Who doesn’t love St. Patrick’s Day snacks? It’s a fun reminder that we’re inching ever forward into Spring, and we’re sharing these cute shamrock pretzels that take just four ingredients and a few minutes to make!
This idea utilizes two different shapes of pretzels and some candy to create a festive shamrock shape. The result is a salty-sweet treat that’s also fun to create with the kids and tastes yummy, too! I also like that since there are no nuts so it’s a fairly allergy-friendly kids snack too.
Tips for making these cute St. Patrick’s Day snacks:
- Eat gluten-free? Check out gluten-free pretzels from brands like Glutino or Snyder’s. Look for their rods and their twists for a wheat-free take on the original recipe.
- I used a bag of dark chocolate mint M&M’s, but you can purchase a bag of milk chocolate M&M’s and pick out the green ones as another idea!
- Make sure to use parchment paper to prevent the treats from sticking to the sheet pan as the melted Rolo cools.
- Here’s a fun and frugal kids’ activity to consider with this snack – use this appealing treat to lure in sneaky leprechauns on St.Patrick’s day and trap them! 😉 Turns out designing fun leprechaun traps has become a popular tradition and Oprah.com has some fun DIY leprechaun trap ideas!
