The result is a mouth-watering cheesy casserole that actually does taste similar to lasagna if you opt for a ravioli with ricotta cheese inside. This version is much less work involved though!

Recipe Tips for baked ravioli lasagna:

    • Customize this ravioli lasagna to your taste by using these three ingredients as a base and then adding fresh veggies like spinach, bell peppers, mushroom, and/or zucchini.
    • I have made this many times and most recently tried it with adding cooked ground Italian sausage to the marinara sauce before starting. It turned out awesome as well!
    • One Hip Reader mentioned she made this in her slow cooker by cooking on HIGH for 3-4 hours, adding the cheese on top during the last 30 minutes of cooking. Easy peasy!
    • You could also make variations using prepared pesto sauce or Alfredo sauce instead. I love that this idea can be so versatile!

Does anyone know where to purchase quality frozen beef ravioli? We aren’t fans of cheese ravioli? Thanks!

    • jen s.

Aldi and Trader Joe’s have a good selection. You could always throw refrigerated ones in your freezer so the outcome would be the same 🙂

    • CASSANDRE

      Kroger brand taste the best

  9. MombieZombie

I’m confused…do l boil the ravioli first? It says “prepared package” or am l throwing them in still frozen?

Help me l am dense 😕

    • jen s.

Use them frozen. Directions probably shouldn’t say prepared….

      • MombieZombie

        thank you!

    • Cassandre

Make your best meat sauce with onions and veggies. Add two 30 cents cans of tomatoe sauce to it and them add it to the bottom of a dish. Top with ravioli from Kroger which taste the best. Add light italian mix cheese. Repeat and add an entire bag of straight parmesan cheese and italian seasoning. Cook on baking sheet 45 -55 min. So good

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh sorry that just means packaged ravioli – they are frozen and will bake in with the sauce and cheese. No need to boil first.

    • Nikki

I make this but add a layer of cottage cheese or ricotta cheese as well to make it more like lasagna. It is amazing!

  10. jen s.

I just made this in my slow cooker the other day… but I use the low setting for 3-4 hours. Comes out perfect!

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks so much for sharing – I’d love to try that next.

  11. Cassandre

I always make this recipe. I’ll never make lasagna again. I dont have to deal with ricotta

  12. Shannon

It is so funny to see this posting as this is what we are having for dinner. I did add a layer of chicken patties to have a mock chicken parm ravioli bake.

I have made these in the past with alfredo sauce, grilled chicken strips, and broccoli florets layered with the ravioli. I stock up on ravioli when our local grocery has them for a dollar a bag.

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Wow such great ideas! Thanks Shannon!
