Easy Game Day Recipes AND Party Tips - Walking Tacos

Ready for the Big Game?

Even if you’re not an avid football fan, game day can be fun for everyone! Check out these yummy, easy recipes, tips, and tricks for throwing a successful party without breaking the bank.

1. Double-dip in the slow cooker.

Game Day Foil Hacks

If you’re hosting a game day party but don’t own multiple slow cookers, no worries! This genius hack from Reynold’s Kitchens uses aluminum foil and slow cooker liners to create a divider in your slow cooker, enabling you to cook two dips simultaneously. Genius!

Check out some of our yummy dip recipes:

2. Make a DIY nacho bar.

low-carb crispy nacho chips

A Nacho Bar is super easy to prep ahead of time, allowing you to enjoy the game without spending all of your time in the kitchen. Rather than pouring your time into making multiple dishes to appease everyone’s tastes, consider making a nacho bar with tortilla chips, restaurant style salsa, white queso dip, slow cooker refried beans, fresh guacamole, and all the fixings you desire. Then your guests can make them their way!

OR – instead of a Nacho Bar make Walking Tacos (pictured at the top of this post)! This idea isn’t so much a recipe but more of a genius idea to serve tacos on the go! Keep taco meat warm in a slow cooker and use individual sized chip bags, along with your favorite toppings to serve up tacos to a crowd! YUM!

If you’re looking to keep costs low, serve one dish, like a nacho bar or even a meat and cheese board, and then host your party potluck-style and ask your guests to all bring something. Also, if you’re planning to have an adult party, consider asking your guests to BYOB if it’s going to be a large group.

Plus, you can easily form these amazing Rice Krispies Treats into football shapes to create lines for a super easy football dessert that everyone will enjoy!

4. Play Game Day Bingo!

Game Day Bingo

How about adding a little friendly competition to the evening by playing Game Day Bingo during the game! You may be able to find Game Day Bingo sets in Bullseye’s Playground at Target for just a buck.

Don’t live near a Target or want to play Bingo during the commercials only? Visit Play. Party. Plan for more directions and to download a FREE Printable Bingo Game template. Determine the rules ahead of time and give every player a Bingo card and some candy or markers.

Then, if you see or hear something on your card during one of the commercials (not during the game, halftime show, or the announcements!), cover it up with a piece of candy or designated object! Whoever covers five squares in a row, calls BINGO and wins a prize (if you choose to do prizes)!

5. Show team spirit with Jello shots.

Jello Shots

If you’re hosting an adult only party, consider incorporating your team’s colors with this easy layering technique for Jello shots. You can also make kid-friendly Jell-O Jigglers by making the Jell-O according to the package and then cutting out shapes using football-shaped cookie cutters.

Great post, love the recipes!!! I hate to be “that person” but just out of personal experience… If these delicious corn-dog muffins are for kids under (lets say) 7, do NOT cut the hot dog pieces in rounds. It is the perfect size/shape to be logged in a kid’s windpipe…and if you have a sloppy eater (like mine is) you will have to end up doing the Haimlich maneuver (which we have had to do a couple of times). After that, hotdogs in our house (or restaurants) get cut LONGWISE and then chopped, if we want to. Sorry, no offense, just a cautious warning. Again, great work!

    • Lo

      Thanks for looking out!
Hmmm diced hot dog would spread the hot doggy goodness 🤣
