My Pizza Addiction Is Keto-Approved With This Low Carb “Fathead” Dough

Oh how I LOVE this “Fathead” Pizza Dough recipe. As many of you know, I eat mainly a ketogenic and low carb diet… but sure have a hard time resisting a good slice of pizza!

This keto-friendly pizza dough makes amazing pizza that you seriously can’t tell is low carb. My entire family LOVES it… even my oh so picky kiddos.  The best part (well, other than it tasting SO good) is that it requires just a few ingredients that you may have on hand. No really odd ingredients that you need to buy at some specialty store or online – love that!

Guess what?! Tonight some of the team and I hopped on a Facebook live video to show just how easy it is to make this low carb pizza dough, and we shared a few yummy varieties. I also may have mentioned some other fun news!

One of the main ingredients in the low carb pizza dough is Almond Flour, which can be a bit expensive depending on where you buy it.

So far I’ve found that the warehouse clubs have some of the best prices…

Costco Kirkland Brand Almond Flour 3 lb (should be available at your local Costco Warehouse)
ONLY $11.69 for 3lbs (48 oz) – just $3.90 per pound!

Sam’s Club Bob’s Red Mill Almond Flour 3lb
ONLY $13.98 for 3lbs (48oz) – just $4.66 per pound!

Check out these yummy variations that Lina has made with “fathead” pizza dough…

Yum! Love Fathead dough! Have even used it to make a buffalo chicken crescent roll ring. Last time I made fathead pizza it puffed up like a balloon! Is that normal? I tried chicken crust pizza tonight and held up well and tasted yummy. Could taste the canned chicken a little bit but will definitely be making again.

      Hi Jeanna!

YUM! I am so going to have to try those buffalo chicken crescent roll rings – that sounds amazing! As far as the pizza crust puffing up – that’s happened to mine in certain spots and you can usually just pop them and just gently press down.

I have found cheap almond flour (and other flours like wheat, coconut) in the clearance section at Home Goods, Marshall and TJ Maxx . Some red tag are 5 lbsfor $5 or less.

    • Tammy

Great idea, Thanks. Never even thought of those.

    • Mrs.W

Wow that’s an awesome price! My husband is gluten intolerant so we use a lot of almond flour!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Such an awesome tip! I am going to check these stores next time I’m shopping. Thank you!

Anyone have any low carb nut free recipes? I have a nut allergy kiddo or I would be all over this almond flour one! Looks amazing! Thanks Collin and team!

    • katie

Agreed I need some as well due to nut allergy kiddos.

Just tried a “plantain pizza”. Just plantain, egg, and a few pantry items. Very easy and not too bad!

    • Karen

I use ground flax seed. It makes a great crust for my sugar free cheesecake!

Tata I’m excited for another live video. I’m not always able to catch you live but I always love watching them later while I do my housework! You all are awesome!!!😁

    Your so cute!

I use my Vitamix dry container. Be wary of older nut flours-they can turn rancid.

Please share more low carb recipes 🙏🙏

Another vote for low carb recipe faves here. My gut functions so much better without gluten and with fewer grains. I’ve never been much of a meat eater so keto is a bit challenging to stay on long term. I don’t always trust nut flours and nut butters not to be rancid since they just don’t stay fresh on the shelf that long before they’re purchased.

I just bought almond flour and can’t wait to try this recipe! Thanks Collin and team. You ladies go above and beyond what most coupons
sites do. That’s what sets you apart from all the others. I’ve been a fan from the beginning.THANK YOU!

Thanks for posting the video on here 🙂 I don’t do social media so I was glad to be able to watch it on the post. Ya’ll are like my long distance friends (it feels like anyway) LOL!! 😉 Good luck with the new website adventure!

I make my pizza crust with Greek yogurt, I wonder if I could use almond flour instead of self rising flour.

Always store nuts and nut flours in your freezer after you buy them…they won’t go rancid this way.

I wanted to like fathead… I too am a pizza addict. I just couldn’t get past the gagging taste of SO much mozzarella!

Thankfully I’ve now discovered Cauliflour Foods crust which is only 3g net carbs for an ENTIRE crust, much less than even FatHead.

Sorry if this comes off as an ad, I don’t work for them and this isn’t a referral URL, just another keto guy that was blown away by a non-cheese based crust.

    • Nick

Oops, I should clarify it does still use mozzarella cheese, just blended with cauliflower instead of nut flour (and it isn’t as noticable that it’s a chunk of cheese).

I’m new to keto, so far it’s great for my weight loss &overall energy. Going to sam’s tomorrow for the almond flour !!! Thank you!!
