And what’s fun about these Amazon DIY House Kits is that you can customize and paint them however you’d like!

However, if you want to add anything extra, like air conditioning, plumbing, or electricity, to any of these homes, you’ll need to do that yourself—it doesn’t include any of those features.

am I the only one wondering where Amazon is getting human bones to sell ???

    • bobbideberte

I was just wondering about that! Like, what the heck?!?!

    • S

      That’s scary.

    • Jill

      Nope. Not the only one.

    • sue

      Same😂😂

    • Rebekah

Those aren’t real human bones. They are lifelike disarticulated bones for study purposes. Poor choice of wording

      • Rebekah

My bad. Keep scrolling and there are finger bones 🤦🏼‍♀️

  2. Emily

Check with your local planning and zoning offices to make sure you can actually have/build one of these before you order it.

    • juma

As well as your HOA. We just laid a foundation for a customer who was having a shed built and it was a nightmare. I explained to him that he needed a permit drawings site plans before he could install the shed, but height restrictions were a big issue to. In the end I actually took on that project for him and got the builder to redesign building and I got it approved and installed. Headaches that could have been prevented had he just listened to me and/or taken the time to contact his local county planning department.

Best way to do 1 of these is to build it on a trailer frame with wheels because #1 u wont need a building permit because not considered a permanent structure and #2 u could then use it for camping trips, i love them

  3. frugal-fit-sexy

    Is there free returns, lol?

    • joe

      lol =P

    • Christine

      Lol……Good question…Lol

      • B

Just take it to Kohl’s. When they open hahaha

        • Ashley

          Kohls employee here……noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! Lol

    • C

At that price you may as well get a shipping container and make it into one of these or locally I think we have prebuilt small houses or whatever you want to call them for about the same price 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

these are great. my son (turns 27 today) just moved home for the third time. rather that uproot bedrooms for 3 siblings who have been smart enough not to leave until they can afford to we had an 8×12 costco shed insulated sheet rocked and painted. bigger than his sisters room. he has privacy and doesn’t disturb us. i’d love to have a functional tiny home built so the kids always have a place to visit or fall back on

    • quinntress

That’s exactly what I thought. If my kids needed to come home after college, then this would work great. + I love ur name bc I use shop4dafam as an email for all my shopping needs 🤣🖐🏽

    • riss

When my son was in 5th grade, that’s what he asked me for his grad present. I told him it would be hot coz it’s not insulated and there’s no bathroom, plus there may be bugs. He changed his mind after i said bugs 🤣😂

    • LEH50

      What about a bathroom?

      • shop4mybabies

we do allow him to come in the house lol

  5. mrswagley

Im officially creeped out that you can actually buy real human bones on Amazon. Like… I read the reviews and some people are weird enough to just collect stuff like that… I’m pretty weird but dang!

  6. SaverChick

I’ve wanted one of these little houses since the first time H2S posted one. I would put it in my backyard and use it as an office/she-shed. Super cute!

  7. SaverChick

The human bones situation is creepy.

  8. Jess

My dream is to build one of these for my disabled son. I like the idea of giving and teaching him independence but having him close enough to protect and enjoy his company.

    • mckeeversmom

What a wonderful idea, Jess! I hope your wish can come true.

    • Gscribble

      That’s wonderful!

    • J.H.509

Yes. I was thinking the exact same thing for our daughter. In very optimistic but also realistic. She will never be able to live on her own but this would definitely give her a sense of independence but with us very close by.

    • quinntress

What a wonderful idea! I hope you find a solution that works for u & ur family.

    • peretz12

I’ve been dreaming of doing this for my younger brother who has Downs Syndrome. It’ll probably end up having to happen some day once my parents are unable to care for him.

  9. eadybakegirl

When we were looking at houses to purchase our realtor would call them mother In law dens. He said many people had them for their elderly parents that want privacy but need assistance. It’s a great option as a starter place for a couple to save money for future home purchase or pay off student debt faster.

  10. pam

    is there a bathroom?

    • Elaine

      No

  11. tina

Is the town allow to put in the backyard?

  12. Elizabeth M.

I would totally buy one if I had the funds. Hello Sheshed!

    • quinntress

      Awesome 🙂

  13. Alese

Has anyone seen one like this that includes a restroom? I’d love to have one but needs to have at least space for a toilet and sink 🙂

  14. sona

Amazon has nothing on Sears (Sears, Roebuck and Co). They sold houses in their catalog in the 30s/40s.

    • JD

Yes. If anyone does the Route 66 tour stop in Carlinville, IL to see a large number of the houses.

  15. Amber

I watch a YouTuber who is the oldest of 10 siblings. Her parents built something like this on their property so when the kids turned 17 they could move out there. They’d begin to have the responsibility and privacy of living on their own but were still close to the parents if needed. I always thought that it was a cool idea as a way to transition into adulthood.

  16. pokz

Can u ship this to someones backyard and i will build it and live there?

  17. Rn404

This would be cool if it had a full bathroom of some sort in there

    • pokz

      Portajohnny

  18. Tinac168

Wouldn’t a camper in the driveway be simpler? 🤣

    • Jamie

And you could easily hook up to the water and electric in the house, and wouldn’t need a permit.

      • Rae

I think the camper idea is better plus if you wanted to get rid of it later you could just sell it.

      • MJ

        Not legal in some areas

  19. SavingsMama

These are really cool. This seems like an idea for maybe an adult child moving in to help w their parents and they want a little privacy, but close by to assist. Or a she-shed…yes…. The price point is high, considering there are no bathrooms in them. Even an RV style thing…may be more economical to go the shed route as some mentioned or put a small camper out there…hey, weather permitting there has been some sweet tent sales on H2S :p

  20. ROSALIE PANZO

This would make an awesome she shed/craft room!

  21. Mel_JD

Very interesting… a camper does seem easier, but if you have the $ & time, go for it! And, the bones are NOT real bone, they are realistic models… 😉
