My dogs love the Coolaroo beds. (Like the Amazon one pictured.) They are easy to wash off and not get stinky!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Aww, Glad those have been a hit! Thanks so much for commenting!

  2. Couponanimal

The Amazon Basics elevated bed is really good quality for the price! I was pleasantly surprised! Much cheaper than the name brand and larger too!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh cool! Thanks for the review! Good to know how nice that one is!

  3. adrien

I have two of the elevated dog beds as well. I love that you can wash them if they’re dirty and they’re good to go again. I also love that Amazon basics sells the replacement cot portion of it for cheap. Definitely worth the money!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SO awesome! Thanks for taking the time to share that, Adrien!

  4. Jackie

Wish my Labrador liked the elevated bed but he doesn’t. During the spring and early summer I like for him to stay outdoors more. He loves the kiddy pool we have for him and plays in it all summer long (Labradors I think used to be mermaids before they became dogs). I got him the elevated bed so he could stay outside and dry while laying on it. It’s nice because it doesn’t get too hot, it’s not on the hard hot ground but he just doesn’t like it at all .

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Aww, Sorry to hear he didn’t care for it. Thanks for sharing your experience, Jackie! Cute to hear how much he does enjoy the small pool!

    • Ana

This is going to sound weird but I lay on my dogs bed with them to get them to do it too, haha (he’s big so it’s not easy!)
      Maybe if you tried that?

      • Sunflower1

Yes, I do this when it’s a new dog bed so that it smells familiar. You can also rub your
hands on the bed to get your “smell” on it so dog feels comfy.

    • Cathy

We have the same problem with our dog! We bought a Coolaroo one last fall when they went on sale and our dog won’t stay on it! He will get on, sit and lie down on command but hops off as soon as we walk away! We’ve tried lying down on it with him but he still isn’t interested. 🙁

      • Eva B

We put soft beds, dog mat type beds or blankets on top of the Coolaroo beds inside just to keep the dogs off of the tile floors because it can be hard on their joints and cold in the winter!

  5. coupongangsta

The bedsure high density egg crate bed is amazing!!! Jimmy loves it! Its great quality and worth it.

    • Peaches

We tried one of the high density egg crate beds along with several other styles when our pup first joined the family. She’s a rescue and had tons of issues to work through including an aversion to dog beds! We finally got her a solid high density foam pad. The kind intended for crates. It’s the only “piece of furniture” she will get on and she’s been here 13 years now.

We have one of the elevated beds and we keep it in the backyard for the stray community cats that come around. Easy to wash off, dries really quickly after it rains. I’m in Miami and we get huge downpours almost daily from June to October. It hasn’t gotten moldy at all. Helps to keep them elevated off the bugs in the ground too.

  7. savemore1

The elevated beds are awesome. They don’t stink and can be easily washed off with water hose. My labs like them. Size large is plenty big for 100lbs lab. Even 2 of them climb into one bed sometimes and still able to fit.

  8. Silva

Bought my little 6lb dog a $50 bed for in the house and a $35 one outside. Find her currently sleeping on my kids $30 trampoline.

  9. Amichael0323

I’ve used one of my kids old crib mattresses and it seriously has worked out great and lasted quite a while. I have 2 large dogs though

  10. Amberd68

We bought our large Coolaroo (terracotta color) bed in 2015 from Amazon and it has been outdoors in all NC weather for the last 6 years! The metal has rusted a bit where the screws are, but the bed itself is still in great condition with 2 dogs and 8 indoor/outdoor cats sleeping, playing, scratching, and sunning on it! I can’t say enough great things about this bed! I keep thinking we need to get a new one, but this one won’t wear out!

  11. tipaye

Best Friends Donut Bed is so snuggly for my Shih-Tzu puppies 🥰 Nice and roomy, they can both share one!

    • Lisa

What size did you get for your shih-tzus?

  12. traumamel

I have the bedsure egg crate bed, and it’s amazing. One of the few dog beds that has a removable cover you can wash. I’ve washed it multiple times, it’s just like new. Since the foam is removable, I was able to cut it to fit perfectly into my passenger side seat for my senior pug. He loves it for car rides.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh cool! Good to know the cover has washed up so wel! 🙌 Thanks for taking a moment to comment!

  13. Melissa

I seen an elevated bed at a thrift store fairly cheap so picked it up for our dogs. I didn’t know how they’d do with it. We placed their furry soft cuddly beds on it and they LOVE it. We have small dogs which love to be on your lap but at times they’ve preferred in their bed on the elevated bed. I’d recommend.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Great find! Thanks for the recommendation, Melissa! Good to know what your dogs have liked best! ❤️

  14. doyle

My big six month old puppy destroyed two bed’s already. Any suggestions for indestructible or close to one and durability? HELP she’s a material goods destroyer and it’s getting costly. No obedience tips please. Not my first large breed puppy but, certainly the most destructive.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Hi, doyle! Our team came up with a few suggestions for you. First, click here to see one that is more rugged from PetSmart. The second option is an elevated chew proof bed here. While the elevated beds are expensive, you can get 10% off if you subscribe to their email list. Good luck on your search! I hope this helps a bit. 🐶

  15. Manda

How do you know when it’s the Monday after a time change? I read that as “best-selling dog breeds on Amazon” and just had to stare at it for a few moments until my brain caught up. Monday morning laugh that I needed!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

LOL! My mind seems to be running a bit slower today too, Manda!😂 Thanks for commenting! Hope you have a great week! 🥰

  16. NikkiLLM5

I bought 2 plush fuzzy donut bed from Amazon & got them for less than $20 each. Not the ones shown here. I guess you get what you pay for. My dogs love them but they are not as thick as they should be. So if you see the cheaper ones just know they are not that thick. Stick with these!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for the warning and for sharing your experience!🤗 Good to know the cheaper options are not as thick.
