This Holiday Clearance Hack Is Birthday Fun For The Kiddos
Ah, post-holiday clearance sales.
It’s a glorious thing when seasonal items are marked 70%, 80%, even 90% off! In this week’s Happy Friday post, Hip2Save reader Courtney shares how to score those items for birthday party favors with this clever tip.
One thing I like to do to get creative and save money for my children’s birthday parties is buying seasonal clearance and removing stickers and replace them with stickers from the birthday theme. Both my children have birthdays right in the beginning of summer, so Easter clearance is always perfect. I also pick up party favors throughout the year when I find them on clearance as well.
This year I managed to find these mini bubble buckets on clearance for 90% off. I removed all Easter stickers and replaced them with princess stickers that I also found on clearance at Michaels.
Yay for easy party fun! 🎉
Not only did Courtney save a TON by purchasing out of season toys, but you would never know that these weren’t originally created as princess bubble pots! Such an easy way to repurpose clearance buys. 😁 This is such a clever idea, now I want to go and see what’s available on clearance, so I can stock my party closet!
Thank you, Courtney, for sharing your fun and frugal party idea!

smart!
I agree! SO smart!
This is a great idea! I’m always seeing super cheap goodies after the holidays, but I don’t buy them because of the seasonality. I will definitely be using this idea in the future. Thanks for a great tip!
This is how I got a ton of stuff for my sister bridal shower. I shopped Christmas clearance at 90% off. Her bridal shower was in March and her theme was country rustic romance. I got a burlap tree wrap with white bows for 2$ and was able to use it as a table cloth. I also got the 3 packs of EOS lip balm for .79 . I used the lip balms as party favors. I found a large decorative golden bowl and much more.
Great idea! I got a bunch of these for 25cents after Easter but not really sure why🤣. Well other than a great deal😂😂
People like you suck. Why buy if you dont need, save it for others that do.
I always buy post Valentine items for anniversaries (hubby and I and other couples we celebrate). I just make sure to get items with hearts vs. “Happy Valentine’s” like gift bags, etc. I also buy V Day candy for Easter – again, just don’t get the Valentine’s specific items!
Cute! I like yours better than the original!
I do the same thing and I also buy the Easter buckets with the princesses or paw patrol etc when they are 90 % off and use them as gift “bags”for birthday gifts and they can double as sand buckets too.
Great idea!
Love that idea!!
What a GREAT idea! Thanks for sharing!
They look great! Was it hard to get the original stickers off? (Or is there a trick for that?)
