Ferrero Recalls Kinder Happy Moments Due to Potential Salmonella Exposure
The latest food news is another recall.
With Easter approaching and many of us stocking up on sweet treats, it’s important to post about any food recalls we become aware of that involve brands we sometimes post on Hip2Save.
Typically, we’re huge fans of Kinder and Ferrero; however, the brand has issued a recall on the select chocolate treats of their “Happy Moments” and Kinder Mix Chocolate Treats Basket due to potential Salmonella Typhimurium exposure.
As you may know, Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious, and sometimes fatal, infections. These infections affect people of all ages but especially children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.
The facility that handles Happy Moments Kinder chocolate detected Salmonella Typhimurium. This recall only applies to two Kinder products, Kinder Happy Moments Milk Chocolate and Crispy Wafers Assortment and Kinder Mix Chocolate Treats Basket. The FDA had provided this guide to know exactly what to look for, which is attached above.
No cases of anyone getting sick have been reported. However, Ferrero decided to release this recall as part of precaution measures. This is due to a few cases reported in Europe from products that were manufactured and distributed in the same facility as the US.
If you have purchased these products, you are entitled to a refund!
Head over to Ferrero’s website or call their customer service line which is available Monday – Friday 9am-6pm EST at 1-800-688-3552.
Be sure to share this with all your family and friends who may have recently purchased Kinder!
