Given the spirit of the holidays, we asked our readers — “If you had an extra $100, who would you help and how?” Well, the Hip2Save community came forward with an endless amount of charities stationed all over the globe. ❤️ Our first Giving Back winner was Melissa who contributes to The Serenity House in North Carolina.
Natasha has been active in giving back to Project Night Night, a charity benefiting homeless children in the San Fransisco Bay area and across the country. Their mission is to provide free Night Night Packages to homeless children from birth to pre-teen who need childhood essentials. Each Night Night Package contains a new security blanket, an age-appropriate children’s book, and a stuffed animal — all nestled inside of a new canvas tote bag.
Natasha and her Aunt Dee have been supporting Project Night Night for nearly ten years by donating blankets, books, and stuffed animals to help ease the anxiety of children in shelters.
With two small children at home, Natasha knows how important it is for her boys to go to bed every night with a good storybook and a snuggly blanket. These simple items offer a level of comfort and security that helps them sleep better, so the impact on a child with little-to-nothing is immense.
With the $100 Target gift card Natasha received, she purchased more books like Pinkalicious: The Pinkerrific Playdate, We Love Baseball!, and Lego Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, alongside blanket sets with plush stuffed animals featuring Mickey Mouse & Friends, PJ Masks, and Trolls. These were part of the overall contribution that came from her family’s Tree Trimming party!
These items ensure that all children who benefit from Project Night Night will have the blessings of a warm blanket, snuggly stuffed animals, and a nighttime story to help them sleep soundly.
Thank you, Natasha and Aunt Dee, for all you do!
We couldn’t be happier to have readers like Natasha and her Aunt Dee who contribute to such worthy causes! Stayed tuned for even more giving back stories from Hip2Save readers that embody the true spirit of the holidays!
