Hip2Save Sidekick, Chelsey, tried this box out with her kids…
With three kiddos under 4 years old, I’ve become a sort of a Pre-K activity book connoisseur. We’ve tried the ‘best’ ones and the not-so-great ones, so I can say with great confidence that Highlights definitely makes the mark!
I love that there is repetition so my kiddos can actually retain the concepts and variety to keep their interest. Plus, the many signature Highlights hidden picture search and find activities were a hit. So great that we even had to sneak one in before bedtime!

Thanks! Just ordered the 1st grade set for my kiddo. Great price for the intro set.
You are welcome!
My mother in law bought this subscription for one of my children 2 years ago and she lives them so much she asked forthem again for her birthday this year as well.
How much is it after The first box?
Hi Wendy! After the first box, each box after will be $24.98/per month.
Anyone do the 4.95 deal and never get an email confirmation? I did yesterday and got charged but no email.
Hmm, maybe double check your spam or junk folders. Hoping that helps!
I just ordered this and never got an email either, did you end up getting yours sent to you?
Just want to say I got the kit last week & I love everything about it! The first grade kit includes a “Math Concepts” book (not released to public yet) and a “Phonics and Spelling” book (sold on Amazon for $4.71.) Both are +40 pages of worksheets & then additional pages for answers and a certificate of completion. The practice dry erase board for 1st grade has “All about my day” as a theme one 1 side, with it being split in 2 & posing the question “The weather is” and “Today, I’m excited for” on the other. It’s formatted like the Primary composition books, where the top half of the section has space to draw a picture & the bottom is lined (blue line, dash blue line & red line.) The other side of the board is upper & lower case practice, with space for them to practice writing each letter on their own for 2-3 more times (depending on how big they write.) Last item (and my favorite) is the Write-on Wipe-Off “Let’s Write Letters” book ($12.99 on Amazon & with over 870 reviews, 5 stars.) This book is 55 pages of wipe-off practice pages & it’s SPIRAL bound! And it even includes a pen! Content wise, I have a kindergartener who has been practicing letters & doing worksheets since he was 4, so he is a little ahead of the curve on letter writing & math, but behind on phonics. So because of that, I chose to get the set that is 1 step up. After going through the kit, I feel I made the right choice. However, I think the content is pretty accurate with the grade level it was meant for. Hope this helps someone!
Thanks SO very much for taking the time to share about the kit you received, KittyM! We sure appreciate the feedback!
Thanks so much for your detailed review! I’ve been paying $300/month for Kumon for my 5 yo, and it would be great to transition to this kit and save money! I’m hoping getting a new box in the mail every month will keep him excited!
Does anyone know how quickly after ordering the kit arrives? Thanks!
mine took around 2 weeks to arrive, but now that it’s holiday season, maybe up to 3.
Thank you!
I received the pre-K box for my 4 year old. I was really surprised with the quality of the books and material. I don’t usually keep subscriptions after the first box because it doesn’t usually seem worth it, but my daughter really enjoys the books so far so I’ll prob see what the next full priced box includes. We also use page protectors on the paper books so she can reuse them with a dry erase marker.
Is there a fee if you cancel after your first box?
No, as long as you cancel before the next shipment goes out.
Perfect thank you so much!
Anyone know if this is still going on? It’s coming up $14.95 for me
Sorry I mean $12.49. Did I miss the sale?
Hmm, I still see $4.95 as I click through now. Maybe check once more in a different browser. Hoping that might help!
They also have other subscriptions that you can try for free. I ordered the Top Secret and Which Way USA clubs for my niece and nephew. I used to get Top Secret as a kid and loved it! https://www.highlights.com/store/puzzle-book-clubs
I just purchased and trying to make an account and won’t let me without an account number. It says the only way to get an account number is from a form sent in the mail? How in the world do I get an account number from mail I’ve never received? Does anyone have any insight on getting a customer or account number WITHOUT mail?
I don’t have anything for an account number, annbarikmo. Maybe it’s for a business account.
Hmm. Im hoping that once I receive my order I can get the number off of that in order to go into my account & manage my subscriptions 🙏 thank you!
