I’ve been a raving fan of Amazon Subscribe and Save ever since my 10-year-old was born. I fondly remember the day I realized that I could get diapers delivered to my door every month for less than it cost to go get them myself.

This discovery ushered in a whole new way of shopping for my family, and Subscribe and Save has been a complete game-changer for us ever since!

Usually, you have to spend money to save time (like ordering takeout) or spend time to save money (like clipping coupons).

So if you’re having a hard time believing that you can automate your shopping to save both time and money, I totally get it. I was doubtful at first too, but my family has been Subscribing & Saving every month since the diaper days, and we’ve never looked back!

First, here’s how I maximize my savings with Amazon Subscribe & Save:

  • Subscribe to 5 items for 15% off.

Amazon offers a 5% discount on any item ordered through its Subscribe& Save program. That discount jumps to 15% off when you order 5 subscriptions at a time! I always make sure to order at least 5 Subscribe and Save items every month to get that 15% discount.

  • Buy select items in bulk.

To get the best deals, I buy some items in bulk. Sure, I might not need 2,000 Q-tips this month, but I will happily find the space to store them to get a great deal! Plus, it will be years before I need to think about buying Q-tips again. What a load off my mind! 😅

  • Cancel subscriptions for a product you don’t need any longer.

If I see a great price on something, I might subscribe to get the deal even if I only need it once. After the item ships, I go into my account and cancel that subscription right away, so I don’t accidentally order it again.

  • Review your Amazon Subscribe & Save order before it ships out.

Amazon sends me a reminder email before each shipment, and I always check my order before it ships out. I look for price changes and skip any shipments that I don’t want or need that month.

  • Join Amazon Prime.

I joined Amazon Prime, and have never looked back! Prime members often receive special offers, exclusive coupons, and other Subscribe and Save deals.

Here’s how I saved over $100 taking advantage of Subscribe & Save last month.

Listed below are the items I received in my last Amazon Subscribe & Save shipment. Overall, I saved 50% less than what I would have spent on these items in-store! I suspect that some months I save even more money, especially when I have a lot of household, health, and beauty items in my order that also have digital coupons.

If you’d like to add some of these products to your next Subscribe & Save order, keep in mind that prices are constantly fluctuating on Amazon, so you might not be able to get the exact same deals that I got. The prices shown reflect the coupons that were available to clip at that time, plus the 15% discount I got for ordering five or more qualifying items.

This is what I bought…

Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Snack Packs, 30 ct. – $8.48 ($1.50 savings)

We go through a lot of snacks at our house, and this Goldfish assortment of snack packs is always a favorite. This 30-count box is $9.98 at Walmart, so I saved $1.50 by getting it through Subscribe and Save.

Jason kids only shampoo

JASON Kids Only Extra Gentle Shampoo 17.5oz – $6.44 ($6.55 savings)

I love this brand! It would have cost me $12.99 to get one these bottles at Target (currently sold out), so this is almost 50% savings. Sweet!

Q-Tips

Q-tips Cotton Swabs (500 ct.), 4 pack – $8.15 ($4.77 savings)

Please note that this product is not available for Subscribe and Save at the moment, but I was able to save a bundle on my last order of Q-tips! At $3.23 per package at Walmart, it would have cost me $12.92 to buy this many Q-tips there!

Amazon basics AA batteries

*Be sure to clip the 30% off coupon on your first Subscribe & Save delivery!

I always feel like I’m getting away with something when my Amazon Basics batteries arrive! It would have cost me $30.82 to buy this many name brand AA batteries at Walmart.

Even if they only last half as long as the leading brand (which has definitely not been my experience), this would still be a great deal!

Amazon Basics AAA Batteries, 36 ct. – $5.94 ($11 savings)

*Be sure to clip the 30% off coupon on your first Subscribe & Save delivery!

That’s right – more batteries! I LOVE Amazon’s batteries, and the cost of these AAA batteries ended up being only 16¢ each. A pack of similar Rayovac AAA batteries would have cost me 47¢ each at Walmart. With all the batteries my family goes through in a month, these battery deals are a complete no-brainer for me!

Other Subscribe & Save categories to consider for BIG savings:

Pet Supplies

Despite heavy pressure from my children, we still don’t have a pet. I do know a lot of other families who use this Amazon Subscribe & Save category for great deals on pet food and other pet necessities, though.

Baby Care

Our babies are in elementary school now, so you won’t see any baby items in our recent Subscribe and Save shipments! We did rely heavily on this category for diapers and wipes during the pre-potty era, though.

It was this category that originally sparked my love for Amazon Subscribe & Save, because being a new parent completely zapped me of any desire to run to the store. Prime members also get 20% off their subscriptions on diapers, baby food, and more!

Household

I wasn’t scheduled to receive any household items this month, but I really clean up when I order from this category! I regularly save on items like trash bags, laundry detergent, and dishwasher pods.
