If you’ve already had a free Prime Student trial, you can still get a week for $0.99 to take advantage of prime week.

    • Rachel

      How do you do that?

  2. Sara

Amazon Prime’s selection of shows pales in comparison to Netflix. It’s not even close.

    • Sara

I’ve never spent $700 on Amazon in 6 months. I only spent more than $700 in a year once (2013).

Total, Membership Type, and Renewal Date
      2011: $205.92 (Free Student 9/15)
      2012: $231.97 (Free/$39 Student 3/15)
      2013: $789.70 ($39 Student 3/15)
      2014: $486.20 ($39 Student/$79 Full 3/15)
      2015: $231.76 ($79/$99 3/15)
      2016: $641.12 ($99 3/15)
      2017: $554.33 ($99 5/15)
      2018: $501.91 ($99 6/15)
      2019 so far: $149.21 ($99/$119 6/15)

I don’t watch Prime Video. Any free show I like that they may have is already available on another service. Prime Video is also poorly designed. It doesn’t sort free shows from paid shows. I don’t watch original content on any service.

I listen to the free Prime Music service. They are regularly taking songs away from the free service and putting them on the extra fee service. I refuse to pay extra for what was once advertised as being included for free.

I have only used Prime Pantry once. I can get almost anything I am interested in cheaper in a store. The higher prices aren’t worth it. City bus fares to and from those stores are cheaper.

I don’t buy ebooks. I prefer physical books. I also don’t use online storage for anything. I prefer local storage.

Netflix is losing content daily and in a few years it will mostly be airing original shows/movies. It will be interesting to see how that all works out.

      • Sara

Netflix still has Power Rangers, Beetleborgs, VR Troopers, and NCIS. Those are the only shows I care about. If Netflix dropped Power Rangers, I would cancel Netflix immediately.

Thank really wish amazon had a special membership for teachers/professors. How can we go about trying to lobby for one as a group (if you’re interested)???????

    • Michelle

Yes! Teachers need discounted Amazon Prime memberships. I have a .org email for my school district. Not an edu one.
