Let’s organize those gift bags!
It may be convenient to repurpose all the gift bags we give and receive throughout the year, but it can be difficult to find where exactly to place them, especially during the ordinary times of the year. This week’s Happy Friday reader, Shirley, had this same scenario and decided to create an organized space for all her gift bags!
All Shirley used was a tension rod and a carabiner! Keep reading to see how she created an instant gift bag organizer.
I store my gift bags using a tension rod and carabiners. Then I can sort by size, color, and occasion like birthday, anniversary, etc.!
Thanks for this super simple yet convenient hack, Shirley! With the holiday season ending, I’m sure many of us weren’t sure where to put our gift bags! Because of you, we no longer have to waste our gift bags and have convenient safekeeping. 🙌 And how true is this?! 😆⬇️

Nice idea! I rarely buy new gift bags and wonder how to store the numerous gift bags we receive through out the year. This way the bags will not get crumpled and will be readily available for re-gifting.
Terrific idea, Shirley! It’s always annoying to wait until the last minute to find the right bag and find your stash all willy-nilly.

Haha right! My stash is always willy-nilly and I pull them all out to find a bag and either leave a pile to deal with later or put them away worse than I found them. I don’t have any place to put an extension rod for this idea but I love the idea.
I also dont have a place for a tension rod. My gift bags are in a storage bin under the bed. I have one for bags & tissue and one for wrapping paper rolls.
I have XL shopping tote and all folded gift bags fits there. It’s not in perfect order, but “all in one”. I keep it on the closet floor.
I store my bags the same way. I have 2 huge Victoria’s Secret bags with handles and put all other bags inside them. I fold bigger bags in half and put smaller bags of the same theme in the middle of the folded bigger bags. In 1 Victoria’s secret bag I have Holiday bags(not many), boy birthday bags, and baby shower bags. In the other Victoria’s Secret bag I have girl birthday bags, universal bags(colors, designs that could be used for any occasion), and a package of plain white boxes I got after Christmas at CVS. Those 2 Victoria’s Secret bags sit on the floor of my closet so they are handy. I keep rolls of gift wrap standing in my closet too. I have another smallish gift bag with folded tissue paper on the shelf of that same closet. My kids call it the gift wrap closet.
