This almost sounds too good to be true…
Can the unlimited queso be combined with other offers? For example, could we go on a Tuesday evening, get our subscription chips and queso, a few $2 tacos and a $3 happy hour drink? I’d tip based on an average dinner total, of course, but even with a good tip that sounds like a very cheap dinner that I don’t have to cook.

I clicked through all of their FAQs and did not see any limitations/exclusions listed on their page, so I would assume you could.
Quite a few Mexican restaurants offer free chips and salsa to all patrons so “buying in” for the $1 queso upgrade seems like a smart marketing strategy to me. I bet our savvy readers will think just like you and use it with other discounts and offers, but if On the Border’s goal is to get you in the door – they still succeeded! And now, you might even come a couple times a month!

I’m confused. I’m already a member but how do I get the free queso for a year?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Jeremy! Once you are signed up for their rewards, you can score free queso for one year by adding $1 to your next order of signature queso. “Just add $1 for Queso Club to any purchase to activate Free Queso for 365 days!” Hope this helps!

Does anyone know what the expiration date is on the Free Combo meal coupon when you sign up? We have a trip later this year to a city that has On the Border (I love their queso and eat it with their fresh homemade tortillas) so would love to enjoy a meal there when we visit.

    • Heather

I just signed up today and the free combo is good through 6/25/21.

      • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

        Thanks, Heather!

I just signed up and also got an offer for $30 off catering order. Just a heads up for anyone who might be able to make use of that for a graduation party or father’s day gathering! (That also expires 6/25/21, along with the free meal offer.)

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

What a great deal! Thanks for sharing the offer you scored!

I took myself out to eat tonight. It was my 1st time eating at On The Boarder. It’s just a sit down taco bell restaurant if you ask me. The queso seemed like it’s just velveta cheese and salsa mixed together. I paid the $1 to join their queso club, but they charged me full price for it today. My server said it’ll be free next time. I didn’t enjoy this meal, but I didn’t have to cook so I shouldn’t complian.
