Our Photos of Parent Fails & Genius Wins While Quarantining
Life is…
So uncertain right now. Unpredictable. Crazy. Not at all normal (like Collin already shared). What is normal anyway?! One thing is for sure… we are all doing the very best that we can during such drastic circumstances, but sometimes it’s hard to not feel alone or wonder, “Is my family the only one who does this?!” 🤔
While you certainly are not alone, sometimes you need picture proof or a good laugh from others, so we’ve put together some funny fails and genius wins that our readers shared since quarantining (along with some Hip2Save team moments).
We hope you enjoy, and thank you again to all of our valued readers who allowed us to share their real-life moments and photos – we’re thankful for all of you, always! 💛
Favorite & funny Hip Team moments:
“I never realized how loudly one could sip coffee until suddenly my hubby and I had to work next to each other. LOL! Love him regardless though!” – Lina
“We’ve all been suffering from our bulldog’s horrific smelling farts (more than usual). Thank goodness for candles so it doesn’t always smell like a rotten egg salad sandwich.” – Taylor
“So thankful that this kept them busy for the day!” – Lina
Hip Tip: Here’s a bunch of other fun things Lina and her family have been doing to stay busy while quarantined.
“Anyone else literally feel hangry all the time? I feel like I set off to do something important and productive and then the next thing I know, I’m in the kitchen eating a piece of cake. #hangryproblems
To be honest though, I have really enjoyed the fact that I am baking and cooking meals so much more now. My family is gathering in the kitchen often, and we are actually sitting down for family dinner instead of eating on the run or eating at different times like we often did back before this new “normal”. The conversations we have at the dinner table are so real and so fun. It definitely reminds me to not take the simple things like eating with my family for granted.” ❤️ – Collin
“My son has been obsessing over a dog he saw on a rescue site…I told him no more dogs, so he switched to more subtle tactics like hanging photo prints of the dog all throughout the house. 😬 ” – Michelle
Genius reader WINS:
“Definitely a mom win – Magnatiles on the garage door + matching outfit + great weather.” – Pooja
“We wiped the handles off before we touched it, but he had a blast for about $1.50. And bonus, my car mats are sparkling now.” – Stephanie
“Did a driving scavenger hunt and did drive-by visits to all of the grandparents!” – Amanda

These are great!!! Thanks for the laughs-we can all use one right now.
You’re so welcome, Pam! Glad you enjoyed these! π
Love these!! And that school bus sandwich is adorable!
My kids used to dump legos all over like that – genius hack – lay down a blanket and dump the LEGOβs on the blanket. Makes cleanup a breeze as you can just grab the corners and pour them all back in to their tote.
Love these. My husband has been working from home so we’re getting more time together. We’ve played Mario Party on nintendo switch and we gave my toddler a fake controller, and told him he was one of the computer characters. We cheered for him on “his turns” lol. He had a blast “playing” and actually sat still for an hour, and my husband and I got to do something together. Win-win lol
Awesome post! Totally needed the laugh today π
The subtle dog pictures and whisper screams especially made me laugh! My kids have been doing the same thing with the hints and now it looks like we will be getting a dog in a few weeks. π€ͺ π¬ Yeah, I guess weβre suckers. Lots of whisper screaming going on too! π€«π€«π€«
Magntiles on the garage, GENIUS!
Wood splitting brings back some good memoires. Your son will look back and be thankful for those tasks someday.
Cosmic kids yoga is great so many themes to choose from!
Lol!! Love it. Thanks for the laughs π. Keep it comin.
Thanks, Tonya S!
I remember a summer spent splitting wood using 2 wedges and a 10 pound sledgehammer. My sister and I made a game of it trying to split a log with the least number of whacks. Soon all the neighbor kids were there for their chance at glory. Your wood splitting pic brought that memory back and I thank you for it. Good times.
These were great. Thanks for the laugh. π
You’re welcome! π
