Although it’s unclear how President’s Day weekend ever became the hot time to shop for furniture, it’s true! Every year, the President’s Day furniture sales come around like clockwork, and they don’t disappoint. Tucked away on the third Monday of February, right between the winter holidays and spring break, lies this federal holiday which has somehow become the Black Friday of furniture shopping!
While we can’t quite explain the connection between George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and hot furniture deals, we’re not complaining about it. President’s Day has become one of the best times of the year to make a big purchase for your home, whether it’s furniture, a mattress, or even a large appliance.

Walmart had lots of furniture on clearance and Rollbacks in 2022.
Even though they didn’t call it a President’s Day sale, we saw lots of furniture deals both in-store and online at Walmart in 2022. They had discounted prices on kitchen, tech, fashion, and beauty items.

Research Mattress Firm well before purchasing from them. We purchased what we thought was an awesome mattress at a great price from a knowledgable salesperson.
The mattress turned out not to be for us and we couldn’t find another at their store to purchase. What we didn’t realize was that they have an insane restocking fee! It was completely our fault for failure to research. Between restocking and delivery/pickup, we lost over $500. Come to find out they were the only mattress store in town with those fees! Lesson learned.
I don’t know of any furniture store (for good reason) that lets you return items aside from defect… I cannot imagine any store that sells only new items (like a furniture store) reselling these used items … I mean there could be bedbugs, roaches/other bugs/eggs, smoke, etc… and on a mattress bodily fluids too… I imagine the “restocking fee” is really a disposal fee to dispose of the mattress
A lot of furniture stores put restocked items in their clearance section. Including mattresses.
There are quite a few that offer 90-100 day trials.
When I go to the La-Z-Boy site it’s only showing 20% off for Presidents Day sale instead of the 30% off listed above 🙁
This is so odd! For me, in Oklahoma, it’s not showing any savings. For one of our Texas Sidekicks, it shows 25% off. Seems like it may be based on region. I’ll get the post updated, Amy.
