This Reader Received an Awesome & FREE Surprise From Seventh Generation
Nothing beats top-notch customer service.
Hip2Save reader, Denise, was excited about getting a Seventh Generation freebie sample in the mail (aren’t we all?! 🙌🏻)… until the box showed up empty. Check out her story below.
I received an open (empty) box in the mail with a Seventh Generation sample… well, it was supposed to be in there. No biggie. I emailed Seventh Generation and they said they would send a replacement.
It was supposed to be a one-time use laundry detergent SAMPLE. They sent me THIRTEEN 23.1 ounce bottles of laundry detergent. WOW! Amazing customer service and totally unexpected.
Awesome customer service ROCKS!

After having diapers/training pants in our house since 2006, I knew something was awry with a box of Pampers (for us, best quality at best price) last month when at least 5 or so had tabs pull off. It was a $40 box, but after calling customer service, they sent me a $23 gift card to “cover the defective diapers”…$23 bucks for 5 diapers…not bad!
Nice, Denise! A great company, and great customer service!
I just had great costumer service with National Geographic! We got my daughter a geode kit for Christmas. It had 2 rocks in it that you crack open to see pretty gems. However, both of her rocks were duds. I contacted them and they sent a replacement box that had 15 geodes! My daughter was thrilled. We haven’t cracked them open yet, but I’m hoping she’ll get some nice ones!
Love Seventh Generation! I made sure to share the supply with some friends at New Year’s! 🙂 thanks again Hip2Save for posting!!
SO awesome! You’re welcome, Denise! Thanks again for sharing with us! 🙌❤️
I few after the app Boxed launched I emailed the company to see if they wanted to donate a few razors to some guys in my sons Marine platoon who were having a hard time financially, well my son sent me pictures of what they sent for the ENTIRE platoon and it was BOXES with razors, toothpaste, soap…etc to last for quite awhile in addition I received a handwritten card as my son did thanking him for his service and it was honor to send support to his troop. I cried my eyes out. What a company!
Thank him indeed for his service & thank you as well for being a family of service. I wish more companies would do this. While we’re in our comfort zones these brave soldiers are keeping us safe. God bless them & their families.
Seems *much better* than the customer service I have gotten from Saks Off Fifth! I was shorted 1 Clinique dry shampoo. They say the box was delivered & they know 2 were in it ..not the 1 my photo showed as evidence. They are refusing to refund the amount, therefore charging me double for one!
Beware of this company!
It took them 5 weeks to “investigate” this issue …. and refuse to believe me!
I had a wonderful experience with the instant pot customer support(CS) that I would like to share. I don’t remember exactly but I think they have a 12 month warranty. It had only about a month after their one year warranty had expired, when my IP stopped working. I contacted their CS and told them about it. They asked me to perform some steps to see if we could get it working. I tried those, but it did not work. I told them how it behaved with those steps. They mentioned this happened due to some issue with some particular part and they told they would send me that part. And to my surprise, in 2-3 days there was a big package with a brand new IP at my door step. It’s been about two years since this new IP arrived and I have been using it almost everyday. So happy with my IP and their customer service! 🙂
Their customer service is awesome!
Hi, Ank! We love this story! Would you consider submitting it here for a Happy Friday post?
Wow!
Some other excellent customer service: Bahama Breeze, Oriental Trading Company, Target, Walmart, Amazon, Bath & Body Works, Wayfair, EveryPlate. Bad customer service: Overstock, Teamson, Kohl’s, PantryBoy.
Dick’s Sporting Goods has great customer service. Walgreens is horrible.
Walgreens is terrible!
I actually had good experience with Overstock. Ordered a white bench and there were a few dark spots and I contacted customer support hoping to get it replaced or get some credit. They not only shipped a new one which has no issues but asked me to keep the old one too which I was able to sell it off at a discounted price. So I ended up paying very less like $30-40 for a $150 bench.
I think that Kohl’s is hit or miss. Sometimes, they are awesome but this past holiday season, it was terrible. I’m hoping that it was temporary help that was so terrible.
Hello Bello sent the second detangler for my order right away when I contacted them to let them know I only received one instead of two in my monthly diaper shipment. I am a loyal customer!
Bitten salad dressing sent me two free product coupons. This was after I left a review on Facebook saying no matter what I did couldn’t get there dressing to come out of the bottle slow as molasses. What they didn’t know was the first bottle was already free thanks to a freebie site.
I will chime in with Target as one the good ones! I rarely ship there (closest one is 100 miles away!) Had an outstanding online order /correction experience with them recently. Made me a fan and made my day!!
Buy centrum gummies all the time and recently purchased two bottles and when I went to open them up all the gummies were stuck together in a big clump and you could hardly put them apart. Both bottles were that way and they had over a year left on the expiration. So I went to their website, filled out the form and someone asked for more information in an email. Gave them that plus uploaded pictures from my phone and received a check for what I paid for them($16.50). I was happy.
I’ve been experiencing mostly not-so-awesome customer service lately, so I am very glad to read this! It’s good to know there are companies out there that care. I love Seventh Generation and have been using their products for years!
Hanna Andersson and Vitamix both have excellent customer service!
That’s not customer service that’s a shipping error. Come on
Not being jelous at all but..I think the same Sara I couldn’t possibly believe that SG send 13 bottles as a courtesy replacement “sample” :/
yes somebody there not doing their job haha wow
I guess it could be said that’s a little of both yet Seventh Generation did the right thing. Anything could have happened in transit for box to arrive open and sample not in it. Not only was it great customer service but also they rectified shipping error that happened along the way. I’m sure recipient was happy to receive all these samples. I love their products and buy them not only for my household but also for my parents whenever Hip2Save team let us know of a deal. There are companies still out there that care about their products and the customers who buy them. I had a wonderful customer experience with Vera Bradley last year. It’s great to see companies to stand by their products. And to the wonderful Hip2Save crew, please keep the deals coming. You’re all awesome!!
