Both are made of salvaged wood with similar style lines, the price difference is well over $2,000 in savings and even more when you factor in the hefty $249+ delivery fees. That said, we’re definitely partial to the price tag of the Wayfair option regardless. 😉

Doing a basement family room remodel and looking for floor lamps. Not a fan of the stick style but the more substantial base ones are $$

I’d stay away from Value City Furniture…their furniture is garbage. We had a sectional fall apart and start peeling within 3 years.

As the saying goes… You get what you pay for

    • dolcedelish

It depends on the brand. Value city is the retailer..not the brand. I have furniture from Value City that has lasted for over 20 years. Still in great condition. Used every day. Having said that… I’m sure all furniture manufacturers have made changes that can affect durability..within the past 10 years…and you have to take into consideration your household and how you “use” your furniture. Just like everything else.

I agree. We have a couch we bought from Ashley furniture for $399 over 10 years ago. When we went to pick it up, we noticed the inside was stamped Marshfield Furniture Company, which is a local furniture company with higher quality furniture than I’d have expected from Ashley. We’re thinking about replacing the couch, but it’s still in such great shape we haven’t yet.

The knock offs are still to pricey for me lol. I

Me too! You know, all this post does is remind me of the couch that got away… l once saw a gorgeous, vintage couch with down-filled cushions at our local Habitat Restore for $60. We didn’t really need a couch at the time, and I had our one-year-old with me, so I walked away from it. It was six years ago and I still regret not buying that couch…$60!

  6. justme

Love it! My husband made me the coffee table for only $400 by watching youtube tutorials. I just did my couch similar to their couch by bleaching drop cloths to recover it and watching tutorials. Saved a ton and I’m so happy with the look! Who knew!

  7. Jessica Wnukowski

Be careful as Wayfair has “borrowed” images from other places without permission. So you may get what you paid for and that isn’t a deal at all.

  8. Cori Rose

Be careful to read where they come from…I caught an expensive set of 4 barstools, but after further research discovered Made in China. No thank you…

  9. Mark

Do not buy from Wayfair. We bought a sleeper sofa for about $600 and though it looked nice the foam began sagging within a year. By two years you would feel the metal springs when you sat down. And the click down latch began malfunctioning after the first year. Most of their sofas are one piece “futon” style filled with cheap foam that begins to disintegrate not long after purchasing.

    • Sara

I’m sorry you’ve had such a horrible experience with your Wayfair couch, Mark!

lol. I love Ashley Marti! She’s so beautiful!
