Hip2Save readers love to shop this Sherwin Williams sale:

Buy the paint now, then when you decide on your color, go back to the store and add your color/tint! The store will actually suggest doing this!

I love SW paint! I got some when they have their 40% off sale and it really is amazing how much smoother it goes on and better it looks when finished compared to the cheap paint I usually buy. If you wait for a good deal like this, you can get it at the same price as the cheaper paints and it truly is worth it.

If anyone is on the fence with their paint, I highly recommend it. I’ve tried other paint and theirs has been the nicest. I also buy it from the Sherwin store instead of a big box store.

The Emerald paint is awesome for painting furniture. Use a good roller and you shouldn’t have any lap marks. Definitely worth the price.

      Thanks for the recommendation, Rebecca!

All of their paint and stain is great! If you have an American Express card you can get a rebate for making a purchase at Sherwin Williams. I got an email about it yesterday.

  4. Jo Ann Scobey

We were headed there today to buy stain for our deck. Wow! Found this and waiting until tomorrow to purchase! I signed up but did not get the 10% off $50 code by email. Hoping it shows up today.

@Jo Ann–if you text COLOR to 27579, you’ll instantly receive a $10 off $50 purchase code. doing so signs you up for Color2U texts. fyi–i already receive their texts but never used my $10 off coupon…so i texted STOP to unsubscribe, & then i texted COLOR again to get a new $10 off coupon. 😉

I’m getting ready to paint my kitchen/dining room walls. The dining room is currently a turquoise blu with tan under the chair rail. I am switching to a medium golden yellow.
    2 questions related are:
    1. Do I need to do a base coat of white to kill the previous color?
    2. Do I need to sand the walls lightly before applying the base color?

  6. Cassandane

There’s always a $10 off $75 coupon on Pottery Barn websites

  7. Cilla

It was mentioned to buy the paint now then when you decide color to go back and have them tint , when you go back to tint do you pay for the tint? Or would there be a charge then too?

    • Mama Bear

This is exactly what I do! But lots of paint when this sale comes around and the bring it in whenever you need it tinted. No extra charge
