Looking for a fun craft idea to keep kids busy?

Finding new activities for kids to stay busy and entertained from home can be tough, and gathering supplies can get costly and usually requires another trip outside the house.

While looking for a way to keep her toddlers busy, Hip2Save reader, Varsha, found an easy and simple way to turn ingredients she already had in the house into play-dough!

“During this situation, “stay home, stay safe“ my toddlers and I are getting bored at home so I found this idea to make homemade Play-Doh in 2 minutes at home. The kids stay busy and get to make something creative.

With only 2 ingredients, corn starch and conditioner (and food coloring is optional), this is a very easy recipe anyone can try at home by mixing together. Better yet, usually these items can be easily found in anyone’s home. This easy and fun idea helps with staying home and keeping the kids entertained.”

Awesome post. I made something like this last week but with corn starch and lotion but it seemed to dry out as they played with it and become crumbly. Does anyone know if the conditioner works better than lotion? Also you can add glitter and make it sparkly.

For the regular play dough, I used to sprinkle water on the top layer and keep it in closed container overnight,it turns soft and pliable.

I made this and keep air tight container..My is not dried out atlist 3-5 day’s..after that I feel little dry ,I again just added little conditioner only same play doh again it’s continued for 2-4 day’s..no others ingredient needed..it’s fun.

Use equal parts cornstarch and water to make oobleck! It is a non-newtonian fluid and it is SO MUCH FUN! Stick you finger in and it’s a liquid. Slap it and it acts as a solid.
