This Reader Spent Less than $10 to Create a Halloween-Themed Front Porch
Turn your porch into a Halloween scene on a budget!
Everyone loves a spooky or whimsical Halloween display as it turns the neighborhood into a magical fantasy land for trick-or-treaters to frolic through on Halloween night. Ahh, to be a kid again. It sounds expensive though, right? Not to worry, you don’t have to go over the top with a budget-breaking display to achieve this otherworldly goal.
Hip2Save reader, Lesly has shared a bootiful and frugal way of creating a festive outdoor Halloween scene that is inexpensive without lacking quality or fright factor!
I wanted to share with you my front door Halloween decor, very simple, and inexpensive. I bought a pumpkin and painted a face on it (Coco movie-style), and used an old tablecloth to give it the look of wearing a dress. I put a black poncho and flowers on the head that I found at the dollar store, and it’s sitting on top of a 5-gallon bucket and a plant pot.
I also made tissue paper flowers to add color to the background, and from newspaper, balloons, and glue, my kids and I made two black cats, holding a small pumpkin—not perfect, but it’s Halloween acceptable. And to finish, I used an old piece of wood I found in my garage to welcome “all the souls” 😉. All in all, this entire display cost LESS than $10 total!
Thank you, Lesly, for sharing this idea with us! This is such a fun and imaginative Halloween display. I cannot believe this entire thing cost you less than $10, I’m truly blown away! I love it when the kiddos get to be involved as well as it’s all about making memories! I’m sure you’re going to have a lot of “happy souls” knocking on your door this Halloween.
