Curious about the new Verizon Up program?

Verizon Up is transitioning to make it easier for members to upgrade and claim rewards! Best of all, Bonus Rewards are here to stay, so you’ll still have access to presale event tickets, Super Tickets, special anniversary offers, and more.

Note that while Verizon Up used to offer Monthly Rewards (like free gift cards!), these are no longer offered. However, we are hopeful that more awesome rewards will be available on a more regular basis – who can say no to freebies?!

Head here to find out more about this program revamp.

I too miss the old rewards. I don’t even bother looking them up anymore. Mine are always useless. Sad. Verizon certainly dropped the ball with this new rewards program.

  2. Kat

Even if this reward doesn’t work for you, go back into Verizon Up and select the reward that donates to Wounded Warrior Project. The only thing required from you is to claim the offer and push a button or two.

Thanks for the suggestion, Kat! ❀️❀️

    • JJ

Was literally *that* easy. So wish we could donate the cost of these screen protectors instead (my phone isn’t included either), but I fully believe that every dollar adds up. Go clickety, click too! Easy peezy.

I claimed the 50 Starbucks stars offer, but can’t figure out how to apply them to my Starbucks account! Following Verizon’s instructions doesn’t seem to do anything. Anyone have success with this?

    • Haleysmomma39

I’m a Verizon subscriber and I claimed the Starbucks reward yesterday. If you are a Starbucks rewards member and have the app, all you have to do to claim the free drink (or 50 stars) is copy the code and click on the “use now” link and your Starbucks app should automatically open and you’ll get a notification saying “thanks, your drink will be added within 24 hours”. This is how it worked for me, hopefully it works the same for everyone else! If not, I would think that you would copy the code to the gift card section in your Starbucks rewards account–thats just a guess thoughπŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Thanks a bunch for the helpful response! πŸ₯°πŸ€—

      • dwascavage

Thanks for that info, but when I click “Use now” my Starbucks app doesn’t open and if I start it manually, I don’t get that notification. Also the reward is for stars, not a gift card.

    Got it thanks

      Yay! You’re welcome, Michelle!

Just my opinion, but I think the new VerizonUp program is much better now! With the new program you get to choose many different rewards each month! Granted I became a Verizon subscriber at the end of the old program, but I was only offered a choice of one $3 gift card a month. I’m September I got a $5 Barnes&Noble GC, a free photo mug, a free screen protector, and there was other deep discounts available on speakers and sound bars. This month I have already claimed the Starbucks rewards card, plus there’s another donation reward for projects submitted by local teachers, a Cheryl’s Cookies 30% off dis, and I have done the wounded warriors donation twice now! If you have any apple products there’s an offer for 60% off a USB C to lightning cable. My advice is to check your Verizonup offers often or daily because Verizon throws in surprise gift cards once in a while!:)

You may understand as you are new to the program. We received all those others discounted offers monthly before the change. What Verizon took away was the $3 or $5 choice of gift card offers. So it’s actually worse than before.

  7. **Lisa**

This new program gets worse for me every month. I’ve had 5 phone lines with them for over 20 years. I didn’t even get the Starbucks stars. I got give a teacher $10. So much for customer loyalty!!! Lol.

    • Lisa

Lisa, we were the same regarding Verizon (had 4 lines, 20 plus years of faithful service) and the service/customer service/rewards program kept deteriorating, yet the price kept going up. We had to switch. We have Tmobile now, and while the service is not the greatest in certain areas, we pay half the price (now with 5 lines) and the rewards program is certainly better. Also, we just returned from a European vacation, and we were shocked at the service (it was great) and the fact that you get free texting/internet. It was such a lifesaver for our family… we could actually communicate without waiting to get to a hotel to use the hotel’s wifi. Verizon had you pay for either 30 days or per 24 hours, so that got big time costly. Good luck in whatever works for you and your family. It was scary switching, but in the end, glad we made the switch.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

That does sound frustrating, Lisa. Thanks for taking a moment to share about your experience with this program. Hoping there might be upcoming rewards that you can snag! πŸ€žπŸ’—

  8. MH

Mine just says to β€œtry again later.” No rewards at all.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Oh darn! You might check to see if there is an update for the app, MH. Hoping this does the trick and you can grab this reward! πŸ€žπŸ’“

  9. Lisa

I had the $10 to donate to a teacher’s project. It was great to be able to search through projects and find one related to an issue that I care about.

    • ashley-21

Thanks for mentioning this! I have 2 sisters that are teachers and decided to take a look at projects in the districts they are in. I was able to find a junior high robotics program that I was able to donate to! 😊

    • Claudette (Hip Sidekick)

      Lisa, that’s so great!!!πŸ’•

update your app. this happened to me too. hopefully that fixes it for you.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing that helpful tip! πŸ₯°

I agree that the old rewards was better in some ways, I could chose panera, or amc, or whatnot. However, only I, as the main account holder could choose the monthly reward. On rare occasion they would have a special reward that all 6 of us lines could choose. We all seem to be able to choose all the rewards now. The screen protector giveaway was a joke .6 lines. 4 differerent new phones. none of them on the list.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Hey there! Thanks so much for mentioning the difference in the rewards program. Glad to hear that each of the lines on your account have the option for redeeming now! Hoping you might score a reward in the future that you love! πŸ’•
