This year, Black Friday 2019 is November 29th, which means it’s time to get ready for perhaps the most exciting shopping event on our minds all year long.

How to start preparing for Black Friday now

Opening Walmart Black Friday Ad

1. Make note of store hours.

Store hours of popular retailers are subject to change year to year, but you can get a good idea of which stores will be open based on last year’s list, and also here’s the list of retailers that were closed on Thanksgiving day last year.

2. Follow Black Friday best practices for the best experience.

From knowing the worthwhile deals to basic Black Friday etiquette, it’s best to know the do’s and don’ts before you head out the door.

3. Make a separate purchase plan for items to not shop on Black Friday.

You read that right—certain purchases are best saved for alternative shopping cycles throughout the year rather than going all out on Black Friday. However, appliances and gaming consoles are hot buys!

4. Keep an eye out for your favorite store’s ad scan.

Similar to the store hours, it’s likely the store ads for Black Friday will be released around the same time they came out last year… if not sooner. Check out last year’s ad scan release predictions.

5. Save money now to prepare your spending budget.

There’s a lot of saving to be done over the next 16 weeks, so with the help of these clever tips to save and even ways to make money, you can build up your Black Friday budget before the big day.

We start saving money and stop buying electronics and other larger ticket items right after school begins in preparation.

Same, I’m already thinking about my Xmas budget

Is black Friday a good time to buy iphones? Thanks!

    • Daniela

Yes because sometimes you get a gift card with purchase. I got my iphone last year from Target and it came with a $300 gift card. Sams club offered the same thing.

Black Friday isn’t what it used to be. Retailers keep running “black Friday” ads starting in October through Christmas.

I saw a retailer advertising “Black Friday in July.” I think everyone is trying to cash in on the phrase to lure customers in when sales are traditionally lower. At this point I don’t care what the sale is called, just make sure the price is worth it.

After last year when some kids brought guns into our local mall and one of them was killed by mall security Thankgsgiving evening I no longer look forward to any of the holiday shopping. I just don’t feel safe going out in the crowds.

I am so sorry, Peaches! That really hits close to home!

It just ticks me off how “Black Friday” now starts on Thanksgiving Day. What is so wrong with letting people enjoy the holiday together instead of fighting over objects? I refuse to go shopping thanksgiving evening, Even if I have the free time to go shopping

People will never be happy with anything, just be greatful for the offers
